Izana's Precious Twin

Aftermath

Izana and Kakucho stayed by Izumi during his entire hospital stay. He hated himself for not being able to answer his cell to hear Shinichiro frantically telling him what occurred. He and Kakucho were doing Tenjiku stuff but dropped it off and sped towards the hospital.

They saw him sleeping next to another boy they'd not seen before. A tall young man with slicked back hair and a scar looked at them exhausted. He introduced himself and the boy whose hand he held.

Numbness filled Izana as he walked over to Izumi. He climbed in and laid next to him hugging him carefully. Kakucho sat on the other side and held his hand in between his. It was quiet inside the room as the machines continuously beeped.

Sometime later a doctor came in for both patients. She was older with fine wrinkles around her eyes and a kind smile. She read the reports and test results and knew the two boys suffered greatly.

"Hello I'm Dr. Ashido, I came to explain what injuries Haruchiyo and Izumi sustained from this accident.

Haru would have two permanent diamond like scars on the sides of his mouth. Other than that he seemed fine. She explained that they would keep him a little long since that kind of thing can cause trauma especially at a younger age." Takeomi's face pinched and twisted at the unpleasant news.

Dr. Ashido turned to Izana and glanced over at the twin albino still asleep. His was more severe and concerning. She took a deep breath and read through the papers.

"Izumi has bruising around his neck that tightened his airflow for a prolong amount of time. There doesn't seem to be any permanent damage to his brain. I am most worried about his vocal cords and throat. There is some internal tearing and scarring of the tissue. We recommend that he doesn't use his voice for a day to allow it to heal and we'll bring in a otolaryngologist to make sure everything is okay."

She bowed and left them alone again. Izana tensed up listening to the doctor speak about bruising and internal tissue. Kakucho, unsure of what to say simply hugged him and prayed that Izumi would recover quickly.

Izumi rubbed his eyes when he realized he had wires taped on and a clamp on his index finger. He moved his eyes to the side and saw Izana sleeping holding his hand. Kakucho was on the other side and managed to stay awake and gently rubbing his arm. 

He opened his mouth but nothing came out. A nurse had removed the device earlier to prevent soreness. He made a noise and wiggled his arm accidently smacking Kakucho in the face. That woke him up real quick. He saw Izumi looking back at him with bandages around his neck and wide golden eyes.

"You're awake Izumi!"

Kakucho leaned over and poked Izana's cheek. He woke up and looked at Kakucho who gestured with his head at Izumi. Izana engulfed him in a hug as best as he could.

"Thank god you woke up! We were so worried, and the doctor said to not talk until tomorrow okay?"

Izumi nodded and relished the warmth he provided while still holding Kakucho's hand. He caught a glimpse of Haru on his left and realized they were in the hospital.

Weird. He remembered Haru showing him the pond and feeding the fish together. Then Mikey showed up and things blurred from there.

Izana and Kakucho stayed past visitor hours but the staff didn't have the heart to have them leave.

Takeomi stayed with Haru as long as he was allowed to before leaving. He clenched his fists trying to not cry as he looked at his little brother in the hospital bed. He didn't even know what happened to his face.

He heard screaming and yelling and followed the source to see Baji and struggling to restrain Mikey who had lost it shrieking and trying to get at Izumi. Haru was no where to be seen until he saw him being carried by Shinichiro to the stretcher.

He stopped by to pick up Senju and the two went home in silence. Haru would be discharged tomorrow hopefully. The sides of his torn mouth were the only injury they found and had no infection thankfully. Senju stayed in her room for most of the day and Takeomi did his own thing too.

Shinichiro sent Baji home promising to deal with Manjiro. First off he sent him to his room and was banned from dorayaki for a month. He decided to write down what Baji, Senju, and Takeomi saw to try and piece what happened from start to finish. 

He sighed and got a drink from the fridge. From what he understood, it stemmed from Manjiro's model airplane being broken by accident. Senju was by herself and decided to play with it when she tripped and the one of the wings snapped.

Senju apologized to Mikey for snapping the wing but he kept asking her "who broke it?" She blurted Izumi, the new boy whose name she just learned. He left and she read some manga in the meantime.

Baji said he'd been approached by Haruchiyo coming towards him holding his mouth as copious amounts of blood flowed down. He heard "pond" from him and ran towards their koi pond out back. Mikey was on top of Izumi and choking him out while sticking his hand down is throat. 

He tackled Mikey and held him off. Takeomi came in and carried Izumi to the ambulance he called for when he found Haru.

Takeomi was at the hospital with Haruchiyo and he could see the devastation. Gramps wouldn't be happy to hear this from him. Benkei was out on a family vacation so he didn't have to deal with all this Sano drama.

Shinichiro knew that Manjiro was not very close with his new siblings even after a couple years. Granted, they didn't see each other a lot but almost every other week to visit Gramps and Emma. She and Izumi did do shoots together most of the time and it was her that got him into the modeling gig.

Shinichiro made some fried rice and ate in his room. Emma was sleeping over at a friend's house today so she had no idea.
