Izumi Recovers With Haru

It turned out Haru would be staying at the hospital a little longer than anticipated. When he tried to talk or move his mouth the wounds would break and start bleeding again. A cream would have to be applied daily until some new tissue would form over the tears.

Izumi went with the otolaryngologist to work on his voice and slowly start talking again. They started with some breathing exercises then reciting the alphabet to help his throat adjust. At least Haru helped him stave off boredom.

The doctors allowed them to walk around the ward. Haru could talk but slowly and only a couple sentences at a time but at least he made progress. The two ate together and played games. 

But Izumi hated doing the exercises and working on his voice. It hurt. The reason he and the specialist did breathing exercises was because he wrote down how it hurt just to inhale and exhale from his nose. He hated how even just breathing hurt his throat.

He knew the doctor was scribbling away in his notes about their progress and such. He was a nice older man, close to Gramps age probably he guessed. Izumi was curious about those notes but he said they were private.

Private notes about him! He wasn't but understood there must've been a reason that he couldn't see them. 

The doctor had wrote 'suicidal? suicidal thoughts? very closed off complains of breathing problems. May need x-ray.'

Haru was discharged a week later from his first stay and went home with Takeomi. He promised they would hang out again when Izuku was freed as well. 

He was discharged a month later and able to speak now. Izana and Kakucho were very happy that he had recovered and could come home with them now. 

"Hi Izana, Kachan."

Izana's eyes widen a bit when he heard his twin speak. Izumi's voice was much softer and a little lighter. He and Kakucho knew that Izumi was unlikely to raise his voice or speak loudly without damaging his larynx or vocals again.

When they didn't say anything he felt a bit self conscious of his softer voice and started playing with his hair. A common habit of his when he got anxious or worried. Izana and Kakucho assured him that there was nothing wrong with his voice changing.

"It's good to hear you talk!" Kakucho

Izana gave him a WTF side glance but it could have been worse.

"Don't worry about Izumi, we'll be here for anything for you 'kay?"

He cheered up a bit and requested taiyaki and curry buns at the mall. He obliged and the twins squeezed onto Kakucho's bike and sped off.

Per Izumi's wish, Izana called Haru and asked him to join them. Apparently they bonded in the hospital and had become closer to each other. Taiyaki wasn't his top choice but gelato and mixed tea. 

(I don't know what its called. Like its not boba but teas from cafes and tea shops that you can flavor with syrups and jelly pieces.)

Haru wrote a note for Takeomi and Senju and put on his shoes jogging out the front door to the mall. The scars healed but he still put on two band aids just in case and because he didn't want people to stare.

He saw Izumi sitting on a bench outside with Izana and Kakucho. He wore a cute ruffled pink romper that he recognized from a magazine featuring him. Cute.

The scowling brother and twin however was a different story. They thought that Haruchiyo was out to "steal" and corrupt Izumi.

He stood up and went to Haru hugging him.

"Thank you for coming Haru."

Izumi whispered in his ear. Haru felt goosebumps when his warm breath enveloped his ear and his body pressed against him in their hug. He wrapped his arms around him to reciprocate until Izana cleared his throat.

Izumi saw a vending machine that served canned lychee juice and chrysanthemum tea that the hospital had with ice and it tasted really good. The three boys listened to him as he went off a tangent about how he and Haru drank them all the time in color changing cups and cute shaped ice cubes.

And despite the noise of people around them, each one heard every word that Izumi spoke despite being quieter. They stopped at the café and filled the table with tea, gelato, and taiyaki of every flavor.  

Izana questioned the band aids on Haru's mouth. He spoke with Haruchiyo a couple times since he was getting close with his brother and knew a little bit. Haru quietly explained that he didn't want people staring. Izana was quiet before speaking up.

"I see..."

He continued to eat his gelato but the thought of people bullying Izuku was put in his head and refused to go away. 

Tenjiku brought in a good income and Izana did keep a portion for personal use. Maybe he could treat Izumi? He knew his brother loved those cute food plushies and stuff. After the café they looked at some other shops and roamed about. 

The ground floor had a magnificent water fountain with seats nearby and large tropical plants nearby. Kakucho suggested they walk around there. Izumi liked it and asked for some coins to toss in.

Sano Household-

Mikey was glad his dorayaki ban was over now. He ran into the pantry aaaaaand, disappointment. Where the dorayaki usually was, was now an empty space. Cup noodles and pocky occupied either side.

It made sense since Shinichiro banned him he didn't buy anymore for the month. Emma didn't know anything and treated him as usual. Baji did talk to him still but Mikey sensed a guarded stance from him.

Shinichiro, his beloved older brother was more distant with him and stayed at the shop more or with the Black Dragons. Mikey knew he messed up by attacking Haru accidentally and then going for his main target, Izumi.

Mikey knew it was dumb to get so riled up over the model plane but he and Shinichiro worked on it for an entire month! That's how detailed it was and the wing broke in matter of seconds. When Senju kneeled in front of him apologizing for breaking it, he didn't want to believe her.

She was a sweet and raucous girl that played with him and Baji. She heard him say not to touch it. Mikey's brain refused to believe that she was the one who destroyed it. So when she said it was Izumi, his newfound sibling that he hadn't known for long he was read to kill.

In his mind it made sense. Izumi was here to sabotage him. He knew that plane had a bit of sentimental value and went and broke it like nothing. He just went numb and searched up and down looking for him.

Thinking back, Mikey felt horrible for getting Haru involved and scarring his face. He was an innocent in all of this and ended up in the hospital because he couldn't control himself. 

In the end Shinichiro told him that it was Senju who broke it by mistake. Izumi also went to the hospital but with more severe injuries. Mikey desperately wanted to go to him and beg forgiveness.
