A/N: I just wanted to say that I will be posting two art pieces I made for this fanfic at the end of the chapter! I made them a while back, but never really finished them because I got so caught up in writing that I forgot to draw! XD But there is one drawing of the flower Vastaya, and another one of Elvira and Jinx, from the scene when Jinx had the hexgem. Hope you like them!
Elvira choked on her breath at Viktor's words. "Excuse me?" she asked through her coughs. "Did you forget already?" he asked, faking innocence. He knew damn well what he was doing.
"Yeah, I did," Elvira lied, trying to avoid the awkward moment. "Oh, shall I read it for you then?" he asked before clearing his throat to start reading. "Ehem, I have grown to lov..." "Yeah, ok I get it!" Elvira interrupted him, feeling her face turn red from embarrassment.
"Glad to see that Zaun hasn't made you too hard and though," he let out an emotionless chuckle. Elvira gave him a death glare, before standing up from her chair. "Leaving already?" he asked. "Well I just came here to make you stop your cult shit, but since you have nothing to do with them, I have no more business here," she said before making her way over to the door.
"Too bad, I was just about to tell you about Aya," he said with a sigh, causing Elvira to stop walking. "Aya? What about her?" she turned to look at Viktor, who was leaning against his desk, mindlessly fiddling with a cog. "Well, she and Estrid broke up, and she got really depressed about it," he explained. Elvira felt like she was gonna throw up. Aya had gone through a harsh breakup, while Elvira was down here getting laid and playing with her cogs and metals.
"Is she ok?" she asked. "She's fine now. She's working as Jayce's assistant since Sky quit," he explained. Elvira noticed a slight sadness in his voice at the mention of Sky, but she decided not to ask about it. Not now at least.
"She's doing good. She knew you went down here though, but she never went looking for you." Elvira knew Aya wouldn't come looking for her because she knew that Aya would know where she went and that she would have understood why she left. "Is she happy?"
"She lost her girlfriend and her best friend, no she's not happy. At least not the last time I saw her," he explained. "I wish I could speak to her again," Elvira thought aloud. "You can," he explained. "As I said, she knows you're here. You are not allowed back in Piltover, and I don't think they would want me back there either, but you're still friends with Ash, right? You could send him there to speak to her. Tell her to come down here," Viktor suggested.
"You're right, I think I will do that," Elvira smiled at the thought of seeing Aya again. "Why are you helping me? I thought you were angry at me for leaving you," Elvira asked. "I was. But I also realized that I don't want to waste this precious moment with being angry," he looked at the floor while thinking.
"I am not a religious man. Not at all, in fact. But I have been praying to every god people believe in, that I would see you again someday. Even if it was just for a few seconds," Viktor said, while still looking at the floor. He was so lost in his own thoughts, and he was focusing so hard on his words.
"Well here I am," Elvira said, opening her arms and doing an awkward spin on the floor. "Indeed you are," Viktor said as he looked up at her for a second. "And even though you look very different, you're still the same," he smiled before pushing himself away from the desk he was leaning against.
He walked over to Elvira and looked over her. "I have missed you so much," he said before pulling her into an embrace. She wrapped her arms around his waist and buried her face in his chest. "Sorry for leaving," Elvira said, feeling herself tearing up.
All that bottled-up sorrow and homesickness she had from two years ago, came rushing back to her at this taste of her old life. Her mind went back to her happy moments with Jayce and Viktor in their lab, working on hextech, and to her and Aya's bantering while working on that elixir that never got to be finished. Or her moments in Ionia with Akali, and with the flower vastaya.
"Don't be," Viktor said while placing a hand on the back of her head, keeping her steady as she let her tears out. Viktor's eyes even watered, and even though he hated letting his emotions make him weak, he allowed it this once. For Elvira, he allowed himself to cry.
They both held each other for a few more minutes until a sound from outside made them pull apart. "What was that?" Viktor asked, before quickly putting his mask over his face, before heading over to his door to investigate. Elvira made herself light on her feet, as she sneaked over to the window to try and see outside while lifting her own mask over her face.
"Whatcha looking for?" someone spoke from behind her, causing her to let out a scream as she turned around and sent a punch straight to the face of whoever was there. "Fucking hell!" he screamed, and Elvira got angry when she saw who it was.
"What the hell are you doing here Ash!" she yelled. "Elvira!" Viktor yelled as he came running back to the lab, before stopping to see Ash on the ground in front of Elvira, holding his hand over the sore spot where he got punched.
"I could hear that punch from down the hall," Viktor said amused while leaning against the doorframe. "What the hell, how do you know her name?" Ash questioned as he got back to his feet. "We're old friends," Viktor said, his mask still on his face, hiding his identity from Ash.
"Old friends?" Ash asked as he looked between Viktor and Elvira. "Forget that, why the fuck did you sneak in here and scare me like that!" Elvira asked, slapping Ash's shoulder. "You didn't come back, so I thought you were dead!" he defended himself.
"But apparently you were having a real good time here, with the machine herald," Ash said, with a hint of annoyance in his voice. "What? Oh my god, are you jealous?" Elvira asked, holding back a laugh. "What? Fuck no," he lied.
"Oh my god," Elvira sighed before walking past Ash and sitting down on the sofa, taking off her mask to rub her temples. "Oh, so you're on face terms now? I thought you were hiding your identity?" Ash asked confused as to why she had removed her mask.
"Take off your mask already, I'm too tired for this," Elvira commanded Viktor, who didn't move. "You can't order me around," Viktor argued, but Elvira lifted her hand and used her magic to rip the mask from Viktor's face and threw it across the room.
"I think you need a nap," Ash muttered as he followed where the mask had landed. "Say that again, I dare you," Elvira snapped at Ash, who knew to shut up. He looked over at Viktor, who was just standing there leaning on his cane, looking at the two of them. "Fuck, it's you!" Ash said as he realized who Viktor was.
"It's me." "What the fuck happened to you man," Ash asked as he looked over Viktor's form, taking in the robotic hand on his back, the metal parts on his person, and the weird coloring in his eyes. "Improvement," Viktor simply stated. Ash just sat down in the chair and leaned back as he let everything sink in.
He had his suspicion that his hookups with Elvira were over, as he remembers very well how she had felt for Viktor before and not long after she left Piltover. "So what now?"
