The air in Zaun was thick, as they all stood in the streets with their weapons in hand.

Weeks had passed since Viktor and Elvira confessed, and they were now waiting for Piltover to storm the streets.

"So Viktor, you finally grew some balls I hear?" Ekko teased him as they were assembling scraps of metal to make shields. "What?" Viktor asked, confused about what Ekko was talking about. "You know, confessing to Elvira and such," he explained.

"Oh." Viktor stopped his work for a second. "Did she tell you?" he asked, and Ekko shook his head. "Nah, but word on the street is that there were some weird noises coming from your lab," Ekko laughed. "They are all wondering what weird inventions you were working on," he added.

Viktor felt his face redden, and was thankful for his mask so Ekko wouldn't see, leading to further teasing and mocking. "What are you talking about?" Ash asked from the doorway when he had finally returned from getting more scraps.

"Viktor and Elvira did the dirty," Ekko said, and Ash felt a short pain in his chest before he pushed it away. "Oh yeah?" he asked and Ekko nodded. "People are talking about it on the streets," Ekko added and Ash snorted.

"Well, she can be rather loud," he said and gave Viktor a slightly hostile look. Viktor wanted to say something back, but decided against it and went back to work.

"So how are you two taking this whole situation? I mean, you just confessed, and now you're going to war against Piltover. She's gonna have to fight her cousin, and you're gonna have to fight your ex-friend," Ekko asked.

"And it's not even a guarantee that any of us comes back alive," Ash added. "Both her and I decided that we can't think about that now. We need to focus on this fight and take it one step at a time," Viktor explained.

Elvira was holding onto her gun with one hand and was clutching Viktor's hand with her other. "Now, remember what I told you. Don't you dare fucking die or I will drag you back from the dead, and kill you myself for leaving me. understood?" Elvira said, her voice shaking slightly. "I will try my best. But that goes for you as well," he said back.

There was a loud boom in the distance, which let them know that they were trying to break down the barricade they had put up by the bridge. Elvira gripped Viktor's hand tighter, and he swallowed hard at the thought of losing her. He just got her.

"They're coming," Ekko said from Elvira's right, and she nodded at him before turning around.

"You all know what you have to do!" she spoke loud and clear to the people armed behind her. "We are all incredibly strong! And Piltover has taken everything from us, but that is what makes us dangerous! We have nothing to lose! So don't hold back! Fight for your future!" she yelled, and they all let out roaring battle cries in response.

Right as they all screamed, the walls were broken down in a loud crash, and the enforcers broke through, with their guns gripped tight in their hands.

"Jinx, this is your moment to shine," Elvira winked to Jinx, who was looking at the enforcers in anticipation. "Any time now," she grinned as she was almost glaring at them while fidgeting with her hands in excitement.

And then the land mines were set off, and a lot of smaller explosives went off, taking out the front line with ease. "Hell yeah!" Jinx yelled as she jumped with her fist in the air, before fist-bumping Elvira. "Told you it would work," Elvira smiled before looking back at the smoke, which was now slowly fading.

Elvira took a step forward, to meet the person emerging from the smoke. The first thing she saw, was the light blue hue of the hextech gemstone before she saw the weapon it was attached to. It was familiar to her, and she felt her throat close up when Jayce looked at her, looking betrayed.

"There's still time to turn around Jayce, and no more needs to get hurt," Elvira spoke loudly as she braced herself. Jayce almost chuckled at her words, before he looked to his left and right, to see the enforcers lying on the ground, either hurt or dead.

"I think it's a little too late for that now," he said as he gripped his hammer before he charged toward Elvira.

"Charge!" Ekko yelled and was followed by screaming zaunites running towards the piltovans, ready to attack. They ran past Jayce, who was heading straight for Elvira. Jayce leaped into the air while lifting his hammer above his head, readying himself to strike down hard. Elvira summoned her magic and created a shield in front of her, and planted her feet steadily on the ground as she prepared for impact.

When the hammer strikes, there was a loud bang, and the vibrations caused everyone on the battlefield to stumble slightly. But Jayce got the worst of it, as he was flung back and crashed into a building behind Elvira.

She turned around to face him and shook off the tingling feeling in her arms while walking toward him. "This isn't how I expected it to go," she said while grabbing her gun, shooting at one of the pillars holding the building up, denting it.

"When I took the blame for you and Viktor, I expected you to be grateful," she shot at the pillar again, denting it even more. Jayce tried getting up from where he had landed, but he was a little disorientated from the blast, so it took him a few seconds.

"But no, you get Viktor kicked out, and then you almost kill me," she shot at it again, this time causing it to bend slightly, getting Jayce's attention. "Elvira," he warned, but she ignored him. Just like he had ignored her pleas for peace.

"Did you tell my father? What you did? When you got all that praise and fame for your 'heroic' actions, did you tell him that you almost killed me?" she shot at it one last time, sending the pillar crashing down onto Jayce.

However, Jayce had already grabbed his hammer and transformed it into the cannon, and shot a beam at the pillar, sending it in the other direction, saving him from being crushed.

"I don't understand why you're on their side! You had so much potential Elvira, why did you throw it all away?" Jayce asked as he got to his feet, stumbling slightly as he got up. "Potential? I had pressure! That's what I had. Pressure from being  Talis! And after Hextech entered the picture, everything just got worse for me," she laughed as she looked at him.

"Because I had to either surpass you or at least do something just as remarkable. Nothing less was good enough, and I had enough of it," she furrowed her brows. She summoned a ball of blue magic in her hands, twirling it around for a few seconds before she looked apologetically at Jayce. "I'm sorry," she said as she fired it at him.

A/N: I am sorry for being gone! Mental health, you know? XD Anyway, I'm gonna try my best to finish this one quickly, as I have a fun original story planned ahead! But, I suck at writing action scenes, so my creative block has been awful!
