I walked into the caff with my victory grin. I felt good, I felt like I could win this. Dean seemed so desperate to go on a date with me meaning I was the one with the upper hand. I can't wait to tell Cole and Ash. I went to stand in line to get my lunch instead someone tugged me by the arm. It was Matt. I raised a brow at him.
"I already bought you lunch, come on," he said.
"Oh... um okay, thanks?" I said. This was weird, we haven't bet on anything and it isn't my birthday. Whats with the special treatment.
"Don't give me that look, Cole said that I have to learn to be more of a gentlemen with you," he answered.
Oh that makes a lot of sense.
"Feeling bad about complementing my breasts?" I asked feeling weird having that coming out of my mouth.
Matt blushed and he avoided I contact with me, "I didn't say those words. I was asking about... breakfast."
I threw my head back in laughter, "yeah of course. It was totally about breakfast."
As I made it to my usual seat, Mason ran up to pull out my chair. Matt slid over a tray pilled with food in my direction. Mason got a napkin ready for me placing it on my laps.
"Okay that's it, what's the catch?" I asked.
"Nothing," said Matt.
"We're just being our gentlemen selves to our lovely lady friend," answered Mason.
They both looked at Cole in approval. He nodded his head at them. Dylan and Thea were trying not to laugh.
"Okay somethings up, what did Cole offer you guys?" I asked.
The tip of Cole's ear turned red as he dug his face in his hot dog.
"Caroline, I'm awfully offended," Mason put his hand up to his chest.
Matt shook his head in disappointment, "it's like we can't be nice any more without being criticized."
Ash made an appearance and sat on the other side of Cole giving him a peck on his cheek.
"Hey babe, when did you say your cousin Isabelle is visiting again?" she asked.
Oh that explains all of it.
"You baited Izzy?" I gasped.
Cole shrugged his shoulders as if it's okay. Izzy liked the attention she usually got from visiting being blessed with the same genes as Cole, but it was still wrong.
"He did what?" asked Ash.
"Who's Izzy?" asked Thea.
"Cole's cousin," answered Dylan.
"Cole's hot cousin," the twins said at the same time.
"She's a pretty chill girl too, so she'd be a great girlfriend," said Dylan.
"They've both had a crush on her since they we met her," I answered.
"But Cole will put in a good word for me right?" asked Mason.
"No I bought her lunch, I'm winning," said Matt.
Cole that sneaky boy.
Ash winced at that, "sibling rivalry, that's not pretty. I for one can't wait to meet her! She only visits when I'm at a competition."
"Oh maybe we can have a sleep over!" beamed Thea. "And Caroline you are coming this year I don't care. I will be not rejected again."
"Care, you better not hurt my girl's feelings," Dylan put a protective arm around Thea.
