Chapter 22

"Hey Dean, you made it!" I said happily. I didn't think he'd actually accept Cole's invite.

"Of course I would babe, you're here," he said with eyes twinkling. Aw Dean! I leaned up and kissed his cheek.

Someone made a gagging noise beside us. "Please don't start kissing." Thea. Of course.

Dean kissed the top of my head to probably piss her off making me giggle.

"Dean these are the girls and girls this is Dean," I said trying to make friendly.

Ashley crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes at him intimidatingly. "Oh I know exactly who he is."

Ah shit, I'm dating the enemy.

Dean, of course, was always up for a challenge. "Whatever Amanda, how are your little short skirts?"

I elbowed him giving his smirking face a warning look. "Dean!"

I forgot how annoying it was when he started calling you every name but your actual one.

"Listen here you jerk-"

"Ash!" Thea warned this time.

Cole came running towards us putting himself between Dean and Ash. "Whoa- let's all take a deep breath. Today is going to be fun, let's put this aggression into sports? Does that sound good?"

No one answered, instead they continued glaring at each other. Cole clapped his hands together excitedly but his face read nervous. "Great! Come on Dean, let's go to the guys. Your friend Jake is waiting for you to join us."

Cole invited Jake too? Wow, that was a big move on his part.

Dean kissed the top of my head before leaving with Cole. I watched them leave before dreadfully turning towards the girls. I'm sure my cheeks were blushing.

"I'm just going to go ahead and say it... awkward," said Jenny speaking for the first time. Then she stuck out her hand towards me. "I'm Jenny by the way, Aiden's girlfriend and I'm also in your lit class."

I shook her hand and smiled. "I heard, Aiden seems to like you a lot. Hope you're a keeper, and I also don't feel like giving the whole if you break his heart bla bla bla talk."

This earned a laugh from Jenny. "Your right Ash, she is funny. I like you Care."

"Good," I smiled. "I think I like you too."

Ash threw her hands in the air looking like she's been bottling up her anger- which she probably has. "Wait. Wait. Wait. Care are you still on the bet or are you two actually dating?"

"Obviously dating, Dean's never looked at someone like that and Care is acting like an awestruck girl," said Thea checking out her nails.

"I'm not awestruck," I mumbled under my breath. Or at least I didn't think I was.

"Care... can I speak to you alone?" asked Ash looking down. Shit.

I nodded my head as the other girls went to their boyfriends. I nervously shifted from one foot to the other scared of what was to come.

"Caroline... I'm not sure about this... Dean he's good with girls," she said.

"Yeah but I'm his first real girlfriend, he's never lasted this long with anyone," I pointed out. "Besides we called off the bet."

Ashley widened her eyes in surprise. "Oh... it's real then."

I nodded my head.

"What about Cole?"
