Random people of all shapes, sizes and colours came to Dean's car. They greeted him and cheered for him. He parked in a space that seemed to be reserved only for him.

He looked at me and seemed sort of nervous. "You haven't said anything yet."

Well duh! I'm speechless! As much as I shouldn't be here, I wanted to. This was definitely bucket list. Not to mention how car obsessed I was.

"Don't worry it's a good silence," I replied. "You're sort of famous here."

Dean put on a proud smile and something twinkled in his eyes. "Of course. I'm one of the best racers here."

"Your car seems nice, you built it yourself right? Can I check under the hood?" I said and his eyes widened in surprise.

"I don't know how you still manage to surprise me with your knowledge of cars, you do work in the garage after all," he shook his head.

Was that an undercover compliment? "Do you admit to my skills now?"

He chuckled and shrugged. He hopped out the car and opened the hood. I excitedly went to take a look. The engine was a beauty but it wasn't perfect. "This is beautiful, but I think with a few modifications would be more efficient for the track."

Dean glared at me and crossed his arms. "I know what I'm doing."

I rolled my eyes at his reply. "Obviously, but I'm just telling you it can be better."

'It's perfectly fine," he spat.

Guys and their egos. It's frustrating. "Fine. When you want a faster car then don't expect my help."

"I won't need it," he growled. As far as first dates go this one had to suck. I could be home with Cole watching a movie and being happy instead of being pissed off at Dean's disapproval of my skill set.

Dean turned around and started walking away until he stopped in his spot and turned around to speak to me. "You can either watch the race from inside my car or from the sidelines."

Even though I'm mad, I'm not gonna miss experiencing my first drag race. I stomped to the car and sat down in the passenger seat with my arms crossed across my chest. Dean drove where another two cars were parked and a man who looked in his early thirties came up to his window which Dean rolled down.

"Who's the chick?" he asked. "You know our passenger rule."

"I pissed off my girl and I thought I'd make it up to her by letting her ride with me," he smiled that Dean smile at him.

The man looked at me then back at Dean, I tried to stay looking mad. "Your going to have to try a lot harder to make a woman happy, they're hard to crack those ones."

Dean laughed whole heartedly. "Tell me about it, especially this one, she's stubborn."

I slapped his arm and they both laughed at me.

"Only because she's pretty. If you decide to dump his sorry ass, I'm all yours," said the man with a flirting smile.

Gross, no thanks dad. Just as the man left, Jake came to the window.

"Remember man, if you win this race then we'll finally get into the big league," he said before noticing me. "Hey Care."

I waved back. Big league? I guess Dean was a pretty good racer.

Dean nodded and told him not to worry letting his ego get to him. They were about to start the race. They were all giving in bets and the racers were getting set. A clad dressed girl went to the front pointing to the racers asking them if they were ready. They roared their engines to answer as the crowd cheered. The girl put a flag over her head before dropping it. The cars started driving and I could feel the adrenaline even through my veins even though I wasn't the one driving. Dean and the blue car were head to head as the green car was still behind us. The blue car tried hitting us but Dean knew what he was doing. There was a curve up ahead and Dean was letting the blue car get distracted by trying to hit us. This let Dean get a head start, the blue car was still fast though. The blue car let off his turbo and was no ahead of us.
