I answered my vibrating phone putting it to my ear.
"Where are you?" Dean asked on the other hand. Thank god, it only took him fifteen minutes to get here.
"Beside the trees after that random white bridge," I explained.
"I'll be right there," he said before hanging up.
Izzy and the boys have been calling me and I sort of lied to them saying I was going on a date with Dean. I kept looking for Dean anytime someone new came into view. It took him five minutes to get to me thank god. As soon as I saw him I ran and attacked him in a hug.
He squeezed me back tightly. "What's wrong babe?"
Everything.
"Nothing, just distract me. Get me out of here," I said as I pulled back. Dean leaned down and captured my lips with his. I kissed him back with more passion before pulling back to catch my breath.
He leaned his forehead against mine and gave me a lazy smile. "I think I need you to be sad more often."
I burst into laughter before taking his hand. We went to his car as he drove us to a pizza diner. I looked at him with a big smile. "I love how you get me."
He ran a hand through his hair looking slightly embarrassed. "To be honest, I started paying more attention to you after Cole embarrassed me on our first date. I realized I knew nothing about you."
My smile fell at the mention of Cole. That was the night he confessed and kissed me. Oh god. Why did everything always lead back to him?
"Is he bothering you?" Dean asked snapping me out of my horror. I looked at him with a confused expression.
"Cole?" he asked looking sort of angry. "He's bothering you isn't he?"
God... was I that obvious? Should I just come out with it? I should.
"Not purposely..."
Dean seemed to get angrier. "Why don't you just stay away from him?"
"I am! It's not that simple!" I said exasperatedly. "Our lives are intertwined! We share the same friends, same school, same neighborhood, his family is like my own! You expect me to leave my whole life in a day and start fresh?"
Dean's expression softened after seeing my pained one. He reached over and took my hand running soothing circles with his thumb on my skin. "Fine okay, let's not fight. Come on, there's pizza calling your name."
I seemed to calm down with Dean's gentleness. We went inside and ate our pizza talking about everything and anything. It was great, it got my mind off things and I couldn't be more grateful.
"And then he told me 'you better watch your tone son'," Dean continued his story as I kept laughing with tears in my eyes.
"I can't believe you said that to a cop!" I wiped under my eyes checking if my mascara had run from all that laughing.
"What can I say? I'm a badass," he said as someone coming in from the doors caught his attention. "Whoa."
I peaked from the booth we were in, to the front doors and noticed Izzy coming in with the boys and Thea. I noticed Cole wasn't with them, I didn't know whether to feel relieved or disappointed. I looked at Dean who was blatantly checking her out. I felt a pang in my stomach.
"Dean!" I yelled.
"Mmm?" he replied, but kept his eyes on Izzy.
Is he for real? "Seriously?"
Dean bit his lip before turning back to me. He gave a confused expression to my angry one. "What?"
I crossed my arms in front of my chest and glared at him. "You were checking out a girl! While you were with me! And it was my friend!"
