I looked in the mirror one last time making sure I looked proper. I might be meeting Alex's future wife today and I want to make a good impression. I didn't over do it, just some light ripped jeans and a cute white shirt. I left my hair in its natural wavy state and barely put on any makeup.

I left my dad a message saying I was going to the Thompsons for dinner before going over. Wow, I haven't been here in a while. I heard the usual commotion and noise the Thompsons seem to always have and smiled to myself. I missed that. I raised my hand to knock before feeling conflicted. Do I knock or what in like usual? I nervously knocked on the door. God, why am I so awkward? I heard the commotion inside begin to seize before someone opened the door.

Alex opened the door looking pale before he exhaled in relief.

"False alert!" he yelled back. He now looked back at me awkwardly. "Why the hell are you knocking?"

I shrugged my shoulders like the awkward human I am.

"Why are you so nervous? Take a deep breath, she's going to love your family. Everyone loves the Thompson," I tried to calm him down. Alex took a deep breath nodding his head. Poor guy, he was a mess. I've never seen him care about a girl's opinion so much.

Zach came running to see who was here. Once he saw it was me a big smile formed on his face before he came and crushed me in a hug.

"I missed you, you shit!" He scolded me. I gave him a shy smile not having an excuse ready. "It's all to make our reunion more grande."

He rolled his eyes before wrapping his arms around my shoulders dragging me inside.

"Who's here?" yelled Danny from the family room.

"Wrong girlfriend!" Zach yelled back. I rolled my eyes at his insistence that Cole and I are dating.

I heard two sets of footsteps running my way. Danny and Little J were racing to reach me. I couldn't help but laugh. Danny was supposed to be the mature one since he was the eldest and was a married father, but nope. He let Jimmy win who was now jumping into my arms. I picked up the little guy and spun him.

"Are you feeling better?" Jimmy pulled back to look at me. What is he talking about?

Danny cleared his throat. "Cole said you've been sick."

He gave me a look saying to play along. Oh, that's right. Cole didn't want to worry Little J, so he probably told him I've been sick and that's why I haven't been over.

"Yes, I'm much better baby thanks for asking," I pecked the little guy's nose. J gave a grossed look before mumbling that he's not a baby earning a laugh from all of us. I set him down before being enveloped in Danny's strong hug.

"You sort of suck," he whispered in my ear. I did, I shouldn't have let what happened between Cole and I get between my relationship with the rest of his family.

"I know, I'm sorry," I whispered before stepping out of his hold. "Where's Mama T?"

I missed her the most, she's always been there for me as a mother. Danny nodded in the direction of the kitchen. I sped up a bit walking into the kitchen where she was tasting something she had on the stove.

"Hey Mama T," I said. She turned around and gasped before walking towards me. I hugged her tightly and she hugged me back giving me an earful of why I haven't been coming over.

"Now, I always tell you that when you and Cole get into a disagreement to fix things quickly because you guys ruin it for all of us. He broods around the house while you disappear. Do I only get to see my daughter when you're here for Cole?"
