⚠️TW: Swearing⚠️
~Delayed because I was being a pirate with Owen and other lovey friends :]~

The sun poured through the curtains of my room as I finished getting ready by resting my goggles on my head and putting my shoes on. A small breeze lifted the back of my hair and I smiled. It was the perfect weather today.

My boots pounded on the wooden floor of my house as I made my way outside and onto the balcony. The waterfall sparkled in the sunlight as the plants surrounding the gorgeous lake swayed in the wind.

The new tents in the distance made me remember about the cooking competition later today. There were two campfires that were lit on different sides of the tents that I assumed Isla and Devyn would be able to cook on. There was also a table set up a bit further away with three chairs. I think that's where the judges will sit.

Avery was sitting down against a tree with her eyes closed, probably still sleeping. She looks exhausted and like she spent the whole night working on the setup for the cooking competition. I feel bad that I didn't help her. She should definitely get some rest for all her hard work. I hope nobody wakes her up.

I saw Gulia in the corner of my eye harvesting some berries from the garden and putting them in a pouch on her belt. I haven't really talked to Gulia much, but her round glasses are cute. She was one of the only people here when I cam up, and she seems like a nice girl. I should talk to her sometime.

Miles was sitting in a tree in the distance painting something with smushed blueberries as blue paint. What a way to use resources that are around us.

Anthony was over by the weapon shed that was located next to Avery's house. He looked like he was sharpening a knife and making some sort of armor. I haven't talked to Anthony much either.

I gently held my injured arm and sighed. What am I going to do about it? It feels like it's getting better, but then it just starts to hurt again. I think I can deal with it for now.

If Anthony's making armor, that could be good to use out in the Maze.

Oh crap! I just remembered! I need to talk to Denis about the clock since we're going to be going into the Maze now.

I looked around the Clearing and saw Denis helping Anthony. He must've walked over while I was paying attention to my arm.

I hurried down the stairs that led to my house and rushed over to the weapon shed.

"Good morning, Brielle," Denis said as he saw me jog over. Anthony jumped a little and smiled when he saw it was me.

"I keep scaring everybody every time I show up somewhere," I said with a laugh.

"No, it wasn't you. It's just me being on edge," Anthony admitted.

"Why are you on edge?" I asked carefully to show that I'm not forcing him to answer.

He hesitated, "I'll tell you later."

"Anyways! Do you need something? Anthony here thought it was a good idea to create some armor and stuff made from the iron in the small caves around the Clearing." Denis explained motioning towards the armor.

"That is a good idea! I'm just here to ask if you know how to make like a little clock we can use whenever we go into the Maze. We'll need something to check so we can get back before the doors close," I said.

"That's a really good idea! I think I can try and make a clock. Somebody here has got to be keeping track of when it turns night and day right? I'll just ask around and see if that person can help me," Denis suggested with a smile.
