•One Day Later•The loud knocking at my door startled me awake. I rubbed my eyes and walked to the front door barefoot.
I opened the door to see Thomas standing there with a Javelin in his hand. It was still nighttime, but close to sunrise.
"Sorry, did I wake you up?" He said.
"A little bit. It's fine though, what do you need?" I asked. I shivered a little at the cool wind rushing through the door.
"Some people want to go in the Maze today. I figured I should come get you to see if you want to come or not. We have a short amount of time before the door opens so if you want to come, don't rush. Didn't know if you wanted to or not because of your arm." He said looking at the outside of the house. "Nice place you got."
"Thanks, and sure. I'll come. Is Denis awake by chance?" I asked. I wanna check up with him and see if he at least has one clock down.
"Yeah. He's been working on something. I think it involves clocks," Thomas said.
"Okay, good. I'll meet you by the gate when I'm ready." I stated. He smiled and nodded before walking back down the stairs.

"Any of those clocks done yet? Not trying to rush or anything. Me, Thomas, and a few other people are planning on heading into the Maze when the doors open," I explained as I walked over to Denis who is by the weapon shed.
"Oh, yeah! I only have one though. I'm working on the other ones. They'll be done shortly, take it," he said as he handed me a soft yellow colored clock.
"Thank you so much, Denis. I appreciate it a lot," I said with a smile.
"It's my pleasure. You keep them safe out there," Denis said.
"I will try my very best. If Avery wakes up and starts panicking tell her I'll take care of them," I said. He stopped me before I could leave and quickly showed me what time the Gate closed and what time the Gate opened. I thanked him once more and waved goodbye.
I headed back towards my house to get my Javelin and knife. I wonder who all is coming. Liam is probably coming which isn't going to be fun, but he wasn't that bad the night of the cooking competition.

Just as I expected, I saw Liam there with Thomas and Tanner. At least it's three other people going in there with me.
"You guys ready?" I asked walking towards the three who were staring up at the closed stone gate in front of us.
"Ready as we'll ever be," Tanner replied.
"When we go in, no rushing ahead of the group. We all need to stick together in case of any traps. Plus, we should map it," I stated.
"Good idea," Thomas agreed.
"Whatever you say leader," Liam said. Sometimes I forget how badly I want to punch him in the face.
"I have a clock, so when I say it's time to go back, it's time to go back." I said earning nods from Tanner and Thomas.
A few minutes later, the cold breeze of the gate opening brought me out of my thoughts. The sun has just risen above the horizon and a loud clank signaled that the gate was locked open until nighttime.
"Let's go," I said, pushing past the boys. The vines rustled and hit against the Maze walls as we turned left down the first corridor. This was the way me and Liam turned. I made a mental map in my mind as I led them to the dead end me and Liam ended up in. I figured they should know what we're dealing with before going in further.
