Again, super sorry for late publish. I've been pre-writing chapters!

Italics=Journal Writing

I need leather, sugar cane, and ink. I have absolutely no idea where I can find any ink, but I need it.

Sugar cane I can find over by the garden or by the lake. I can just ask somebody for leather, because I know there's leather somewhere in the Clearing. Ink though? I don't even know if any ink came up in the box or not, but I really hope it did because I can't make a journal without something to write with. Well I can, but it would be useless.

I received another memory yesterday night when I fell to sleep. It was something about how I used to love writing as a kid and how I would come up with a lot of interesting story ideas. Apparently, I also had a diary that ended up getting burnt by somebody. I don't know who, but it definitely got burnt.

If there is ink somewhere and I end up making the journal, I won't be writing a diary. Well, you can call it a diary, but I'd refer to it as journaling. There's plenty of options to choose from when it comes to writing. I could journal, I could make up story ideas, write those stories, write down interesting facts, write down feelings, and so many more. I got my writing skills from my mother who used to write down a new word she heard everyday and that word's definition.

My mother seemed like a nice lady even though she didn't want me to fight, but that's how I met Gabriel. At least, I think that's how I met Gabriel. I'm still trying to piece everything together. All I know is that I miss my mom and I miss Gabriel. It seems like I was close to both of them.

I walked down the stairs that led up to my house and made my way over to Ivy's. The grass was wet and muggy from the rain yesterday, and the mud stuck to the bottom of my boots causing them to feel heavy on my feet.

I knocked on Ivy's wooden door and it was opened seconds later.

"Oh! Brielle! What a surprise," Ivy greeted with a smile. I haven't really looked at her house that much. It was a small cottage like home that was settled near the wall of the Maze. It was cozy looking and reminded me of one of those houses where people would meet up on Christmas and have a nice cup of hot chocolate by the fireplace.

"Hey! I just have a quick question," I replied, matching the blonde's energy as much as I could.

"What's up?"

"First off, lovely house," I complemented.

"Thank you!! I worked hard on it and it honestly didn't take that long to finish. Something about it seems familiar to me in some way," She explained looking into her own home before turning back to me.

"I get that," I said. "Secondly, do you have any leather?"

She thought for a moment. "Stay here, I'll check," She said and rushed back into her house. She came back out seconds later with brown leather on her hands. She held it out for me and I gratefully accepted it and put it in my backpack. "There you go! I found it inside one of my cabinets. Not entirely sure where it came from, but it was there so yeah!"

"Thank you so much, Ivy! Stay safe!" I said and waved her goodbye before scurrying off to the garden.

The raindrops that lingered on the tree leaves dropped onto my head as I shuffled through the forest, shortly arriving at the garden. I saw some sugar cane growing by the side of the small stream and grabbed some. I gently put it in the same spot of the backpack that I put the leather in.

Now I just need ink. The first place I plan on looking is the box just to see if anymore supplies have come up that nobody's touched. I ran back through the woods, water droplets splattering onto my arm. I saw Denis on the way and shared a quick wave before I arrived at the box. I was a bit surprised to see Denis honestly, but everyone doesn't seem to be avoiding each other that much anymore. Tanner and Isla have obviously, but everyone seems to have loosened up overnight. I gently opened the trapdoors and hopped down. It looked the exact same as it did when I came up. Everything was in the same place. I opened up one of the barrels and saw a bunch of cobwebs, but that was it. After checking the rest of the barrels and chests, nothing showed up so I decided to go and ask Denis.

Turns out, he did have quite a few ink sacks that were sent up a few weeks ago. He gladly handed me some and wished me luck on creating a journal before I rushed into my house.

I finally crafted it after a day of running around the Clearing. I finally made the journal! I smiled to myself and gently flipped through the pages, fearing that one of them might fall out if I flipped too fast.

I sat down on my couch and grabbed a feather. I dipped the feather in the ink and began to write my first entry.

I don't even know how many days it's been. This is the first time officially writing in this journal, and it sure won't be the last. I would explain a few things about what has happened in this place over the last months, but that'd be too much work and I'm pretty tired at the moment.

I continued writing until the whole page was filled up. I basically summarized all the events up into one small little few sentences before gently closing it.

I'm going to love writing in this thing.
