⚠️TW: Swearing, Arguing⚠️"Oh my god!" Liam yelled in annoyance as he walked past everyone and ran off into the woods.
"I know he's been trying ever since he has arrived, but he seriously wants to keep going in. Just thought I should let you know." I said watching him disappear through the trees.
"Thank you for letting us know. I'll be keeping an eye out on him," Avery said with a smile.
"He is right, y'know." I added before she could walk away.
"Right? About what?"
"About going into the maze. Yes, it can hurt people, but just send everyone in groups. Or we can make some kind of thing to let people know who is in the Maze or not. We can't stay here." I explained
"It's safe here though! We can build our own little place to call home and not have to worry about the traps out there or anything else that could be out there!" Dylan disagreed.
"Nobody knows if it will be safe here forever!" I argued back.
"What happens if we send two people in and both of them get hurt, Brielle?!" Avery asked.
"Then let's not send only two people in! We can send in a team of three and have only certain people with the skill level be allowed to go in," I offered trying my best to think of a solution.
"That's risky though-" Dylan started before I cut him off.
"How is that risky?!"
"Guys, slow down. This is a situation that needs to be settled with everyone in the Clearing. We'll hold a meeting in a few days. If new people come up, whoever is giving them a tour will explain the problem so they can know whenever the meeting is held," Avery said, stopping a whole fight breaking out.
"Fine. Where should the meeting be?" I asked looking past the two and trying to find a good spot.
"I'll build something," Avery stated.
"Okay, sure," Dylan said and walked off.
"Guess that settles that then," Avery said starting to walk away.
"Actually, wait," I said stopping her by gently putting my hand on her shoulder. She looked over her shoulder at me. "Do you know where I can chop down trees and not make somebody upset?" I asked.
She flashed me her sweet smile and pointed in the direction of the trees in the far left corner of the Clearing.
"Thanks!" I said, waving to her as I made my way to the corner. Wait a second. I don't even have an axe! I saw Denis working on his own home out of the corner of my eye. I walked over to him.
"Hey! You got an extra axe I can borrow for chopping down wood?" I called up to him. He was currently on top of his roof placing wooden planks down. He stopped what he was doing and looked down at me with a smile.
"I sure do! Heads up!" He said tossing down a stone metal axe. It landed a few feet in front of me, its blade cutting a mark into the grass.
I smiled and grabbed the axe out of the ground and thanked him before running off again.
I found a pretty good sized tree and carefully started chopping it down. Axe marks dug into the bottom of the tree, making a soothing sound. The sun was shining right down on top of me, making it really hot but it's going to be worth it. The tree thankfully tipped over in the opposite direction of me, causing a bunch of leaves to rattle on the way down.
I chopped up the the trunk in multiple different logs so it would be easier to carry over to the lake. It sucks how the lake is on the complete opposite side of the Clearing, but I guess that's the work you need to do in order to build a house.
