⚠️TW: Blood, Swearing, Death⚠️"Everyone ready?" Thomas asked as I equipped my iron armor. My sword was attached to my belt and my backpack was swung over my shoulder, Javelin underneath it. It was time to head back into the Maze. I looked around and saw everyone had on their armor and weapon.
"I'd say so," Tanner said. It was me, Tanner, and Thomas who were going in. At least that's what I thought before a voice from behind us spoke up.
"Wait! Can I come too?" We turned around to see Dylan, which caught me by surprise. It seemed to catch everyone else off guard too seeing as nobody responded quickly.
"Are you sure?" Tanner asked finally. Tanner was kind of quiet and I think that may be because of his fight with Isla.
"Yeah! I figured it'd be best if I get over my fears. Beside, it was one little mistake!" Dylan said with a smile.
"If you really want to, nobody here is going to stop you, Dylan. Just be careful," I stated. He nodded eagerly, and the four of us made our way into the Maze after making sure Dylan had armor on and was armed with some kind of weapon.
"Okay, Thomas lead the way to the new area," I said as we got to the end of the first corridor that I knew too well. So, Thomas did. We took multiple turns until eventually turning down a path I haven't seen before. We made sure not to step on any magma or get too close to any lava on the way. I also ended up teaching Dylan how to see the tripwire on the ground so he doesn't get his leg hurt anymore.
"It should be right up ahead," Thomas mumbled before running around a final corridor and there I saw it. It isn't anything big like the campsite, but it definitely was something new. It was a wooden structure built into the wall, almost like a man-made shack that someone used to survive the night in. I then started to wonder if Liam used it when he stayed here, but I remember he was the one who drew the unfinished pathway on the map. There were three barrels, two sitting next to each other in the far left corner and the other one sitting in the far right next to a broken up wood table that had a small chair by it. The shack had a well made and sturdy roof that protected it from rain, but that also caused vines to scatter themselves on the roof and grow downwards off of the roof.
"Have you looted it already?" Tanner asked, walking over to one of the barrels on the left.
"I've looted one of the barrels. Can't remember which one though," Thomas answered leaning against the Maze wall opposite of the shack.
"It was this one," Dylan said as he looked into the other barrel on the left. Dylan then moved onto the one that was on the right and I watched as he dug out an apple that was surprisingly not rotten.
I made my way over to the vines on the side and started to climb on top of the roof. Nothing interesting was up there, but I quickly got off considering the fact that it could fall beneath me at any second.
"What's in the barrels?" I called down to the others, climbing back down the vines.
"Nothing too interesting. More iron and resources which is good for us," Tanner answered.
"Oh, right. That's one of the things we're running out of," I muttered to myself as a quick reminder.
"Anybody got their clock on them? It took a while to get here so we probably should check the time," Thomas said looking up at the sky that gave off the slightest bit of pink.
I hastily pulled out my clock and saw that we only had a few minutes left. "We gotta get going. Grab all the loot you can and we need to get moving!" I ordered and so the three followed through, shoving items into their packs. The four of us then began running back through the Maze, ignoring a few traps and just running through them because of how little time we had. We've been getting really lucky with the fact that all the traps we've triggered so far were delayed.
