⚠️TW: Swearing⚠️I leaned against the wall as I watched Liam scribble a bunch of lines down onto the paper I gave him from the barrel. He lined them up with the already notes I had taken before the magic wall appeared.
The Map room does in fact have spider webs, but surprisingly not very many. They're all cleaned out now, thankfully.
He set the pencil down and moved some of the papers around on the able, knocking the pencil onto the ground in the progress.
He sighed as he stepped away from the table with his hands up, careful not to knock anything else off or mess anything up. "All done."
I walked over to the table and quickly scanned over the lines, starting with the wooden door we found by the campsite. Oh wow. Liam wasn't kidding when he said he ran down all the pathways more than once. It was like he drew a whole other maze. There were still some loose ends, that he explained he stopped looking at after finding the monster, but overall it was nice.
It took him about half an hour to draw everything out, and he honestly did a pretty good job. Maybe he should be the person who maps the Maze out instead of me.
"Not bad," I complimented with a firm head nod.
"Why thank you," he said with a smirk and a bow. I rolled my eyes.
"Oh! Have you ever seen my house?" He asked suddenly as we both made our way back up the ladder.
"That was extremely random," I said.
"Fine. Just say no next time," He retorted walking off towards the forest. Jokes on him, I actually have! I visited it while he was stuck in the Maze. My house looks better, and his house could use a bit of improving if I was being honest.
Maybe I'm just being harsh.

It was the next morning and I want to head back into the Maze since it's opened again. There are still things at the beginning of the Maze, like a couple turns that I need to map out. I'll get out before the meeting which is at midday and then after the meeting I'll map it out in the map room. I also want to see what's new and what Liam hasn't been talking about because you can clearly see a difference. There is now lava falls, fire, and magma rocks scattered everywhere and I honestly think it was because Liam pulled the lever.
I put my Javelin on my back and my backpack on top of it. I slipped my feet into my boots and headed down the stairs.
I made my over to the Gate just in time for it to open. I walked through the gate and I got to the end of the corridor before Liam's voice came from behind me.
"Brielle!! Stop, seriously! You could get hurt," Liam shouted. I turned around to face him.
"I just need to map a few things out. I'll be back before the meeting," I reassured him and then turned left. The soles of my boots sizzled whenever I accidentally stepped onto a magma rock that appeared on the ground. I made sure to watch out for the magma rocks since these are some of the only shoes I have. The box has had a few pairs of shoes sent up but I've never gotten over one pair. There was lava pouring from some parts of the walls now that had completely burnt away the vines around it. Fire was licking the air on some of the magma rocks that sat around the lava.
"Liam, what are you hiding?" I said silently to myself as I turned the corner to where I needed to map. There was a fire trap as soon as I turned the corner and I almost stepped onto it.
I remembered that there is always a way around these kind of traps so I walked back around the corridor and found a second way.
Fortunately, it did lead to other side of the trap. I smiled at myself for remembering that piece of information and started counting the length of the corridor that ended up being a dead end. I then proceeded to count the width of the corridor. I whispered both of the numbers to myself multiple times as I searched through my backpack for the little piece of paper where I wrote down the lengths and widths of the Maze corridors. It made it easier for me to remember exactly what numbers I counted.
After finding the folded up piece of paper, I took out my pencil and quickly scribbled the numbers down and folded it back up afterwards. I checked the time and saw that I still had quite a bit of time. I proceeded to count the width and length of the shortcut past the fire trap and jotted those down too.
It suddenly felt like my hand was on fire so I looked down and saw that I had accidentally placed my hand down on a magma spot to balance myself.
I hissed and quickly sat up straighter, pulling my injured hand closer to my chest as I clasped my other hand on the back of it.
"Fuck," I complained as I leaned forward like it would help with the pain. My breathing quickened as the burning only started to feel worse.
I can't just sit here and do nothing. I gotta get back if I want to get help. I let go of my hurt hand and quickly put my backpack on with my other hand.
I made my way back to the Clearing, careful not touch anything with my right hand.
I turned the last corridor and saw that Liam was waiting there for me for whenever I got back. His head perked up. He probably saw me out of the corner of his eyes.
He ran over to me. "What's wrong?! What happened?!?"
"A stupid magma rock. What the hell happened when you pulled that lever?!" I exclaimed as I started to clutch my injured hand again.
"Hey!" Liam called out as he looked around the Clearing to who I assumed was the closest person he could find. "Claire! Can we get some help over here?!"
