•Five Months Later•

The rain soaked my hair and my boots sunk into the mud as I stared down at the piece of stone in front of me. It was a new one, not even close to the one that Liam had when he went missing. It was a grave in the woods that we established to be our new grave yard. I didn't feel the tear that's rolling down my cheek because it mixed in well with the rain.

The sky was cloudy and gray, a dreadful feeling hanging in the air. The rain really didn't help the freezing cold weather. It was extremely close to Christmas time, and I'm surprised the rain hasn't turned to snow by now.

Everyone has kind of stayed out of the Maze. Well, everyone but me. I still need to map a few areas, so I go in every once in a while. However, I stay clear of the area where Dylan died. I never want to see that place ever again.

I've also kept clear of people. Avery has tried talking to me a few times, but I've shut her out almost completely. I feel bad, I do, but at the same time I need some time to myself. Maybe five months is too much, but it doesn't even feel like it's been five months. If anything, it feels like Dylan died last week.

I also haven't seen Liam in a long time. The last time I saw him was when he threatened to kill me three months ago. I can't really blame him, though. Dylan was practically his only friend in the Clearing.

I've been keeping track with my journal entries, though. I already made one for today even though the day isn't even close to being over.

Nothing eventful has happened these past months. Everyone's grieving in their own ways and it's complicated to actually get anything to happen when nobody wants to talk about anything.

I still have no idea what the whole lever thing is going to turn in to. Liam tried to pull it a while back, but was quickly stopped because it was too early. Liam hasn't been seen in forever. I personally think he's been staying inside his house. I would go and speak to him, but he definitely hasn't gotten over the accident.

I just wish everything would be okay again, like it was when I first got here.

This chapter and the next chapter are the shortest chapters in the book (maybe) because nothing really happens and major time skips. Like I said, final exams are coming up for me and it's kind of stressful. It'll be easier when summer starts to publish. I hope you guys can understand!! Thank you for almost 1k reads, that is absolutely insane!!
