"So when they get here, who's going down to greet them?" Thomas asked as the lift was already half way up."I'll do it, someone make sure Liam stays away from them." Avery responded.
"I'll be on Liam duty!" Denis called and started running off in the direction Liam went earlier. Avery shook her head with a smile at her friend.
Seconds later, the grinding noise stopped and we could finally hear their voices. I backed up a little so I could give them some room. If Avery would do anything like she did to me, she would probably start the tour pretty quickly after she brought them up.
I didn't want to interrupt anything, so I walked towards the garden for some more food. I ran through the forest and shortly arrived. The familiar sound of water filled my ears as I harvested some tomatoes and replanted other plants. The plants danced with the wind and leaves as I covered their seeds with soil. Afterwards, I scrubbed the dirt off of my gloves and fingers in the stream's cold water.
"Oh, it's you," I heard a familiar voice behind me. I turned to see Liam standing over by a tree. His black bandana around his head flapped around with the breeze, and his red horns sat right above it. He had a black cross earring like Dylan, and wore a black jacket. A light red shirt peeked out from the jacket and a black belt wrapped itself around his waist. Normal boots and tattered jeans lined his lower half. Again, another bandana around his neck.
"It's just me," I repeated as I turned away to continue wiping my hands off on the tree leaves.
"What are you doing here?" He asked.
"Trying to be alone," I responded finally looking at his chocolate brown eyes. It felt like he was trying to intimidate me into leaving the area, but I don't really care. I was here first.
"Liam!" I heard Denis yell. Shortly after Denis appeared through the trees, panting like he had just ran around the whole Clearing.
"Oh my-" Liam said clearly annoyed, "go away!" Liam ran back through the woods and Denis following, though it was clear that it had been hard for him to keep up with the brunette. Denis took Liam duty seriously.
I laughed as Liam's yelling faded into the distance. What a crazy day for the new people.
"Hey! Brielle!" Claire said from another direction. I turned to see her with an apple in her hands. In the shadows of the trees, I could see what she looked like even better than I could before. She has long dark brown hair that swayed back and forth. A big black bow sat on the backside of her hair. She had blue eyes—sky blue and she wore white boots with brown buckles attached to them. A brown coat wrapped itself around her, keeping her and the black shirt inside it warm from any cold that tried to consume her. Short light blue pants wouldn't help keep the cold away, but it looks really nice with her outfit.
"Oh, hey Claire. Do you need something?" I asked with a small smile.
"Yeah, actually. Have you seen Thomas?" She asked.
"Nope, sorry," I responded. "When did you last see him?"
"He ran off with Avery to show the two new guys around," explained Claire.
"Go check the places Denis showed you guys," I suggested. She thanked me and ran off.
I need to build a house. I was thinking about making my house a treehouse here by the garden, but at the same time I kind of want to make a house by the lake. Maybe by lake with walls that connect to the Maze wall. I'll add some flowers inside of pots by the windowsills, and maybe I'll have a balcony! A staircase can lead up to the front doors and a nice roof—pointy but also flat kind of roof. I'll make it out of wood and maybe have a small tick of cobblestone.
I don't know if it'll look good, but at least it'll be a home. Im not sure, but something inside of me is saying that I wasn't the best builder before I got sent here. I'll try to make it the best I can.
I don't know what trees I can use without making somebody mad. I'll work on the house tomorrow and ask Avery about the whole tree situation.
I don't think we have any animals, so it'll be kind of hard to find some wool. I think I saw a tent over by the box that is missing some wool. I guess that's where everyone is getting their beds.
I walked back over to the gray tent that had a lit fire place in front of it. I passed a couple people along the way, but nobody that I saw was new. Claire found Thomas from the looks of it though.
I carefully ripped a piece of wool off of the tent, more towards the back with the other openings so it was less noticeable. Nobody was sleeping inside the tent anyways. I mean, there were wooden chairs around the fire for people to sit in, but absolutely nothing but grass inside the tent itself.
Nobody has gone into the Maze ever since the two incidents that happened. I don't necessarily think the best idea is not to go in the Maze, but for now it sounds okay. Liam doesn't really seem to enjoy the idea, but it's Liam. Of course he wants to go in the Maze. I don't like the fact that he is the only other one here that has horns. I wish it was someone else. Maybe one of the new guys have horns.
I'm really curious about what the horns mean, but I don't think I should try and remember. It kind of hurts my head whenever I try.
I went over to the lake—the dock to be specific—and tried to put together a cozy bed for me to sleep in. It didn't turn out exactly what I expected, but it will do for now. It'll be hard for me to move my bed, so I'll just sleep on the dock until I make my house.
There is a lot to do, but I don't feel like moving around too much at the moment. My stomach is still sore from when I fell from a tree earlier, so that's probably why.
I went to the edge of the dock and took off my boots, letting my feet dangle in the refreshing cold water. It sent shivers up my spine and felt wonderful, washing my worries completely away. I closed my eyes and leaned my head against the dock pole that stretched all the way to the bottom of the lake. The lake is very relaxing and could probably calm me down if I ever needed it. I sat like this for the rest of the evening and then went back to bed when it turned nighttime.
