Chapter Twenty-Seven

Deleena

"Um yeah... about that... my parents know we're sleeping together." She says it so casually, and I jump up.

"They know what!" I began to panic and fly off the bed, pulling my robe back over my body. The thought of them knowing about this makes me feel more naked than I am. As if my entire body has been exposed and is about to be ridiculed for sleeping with a minor.

"No, no, no, no, no, Valiana, what the hell do you mean?" I began to pace, flipping my hair out of my face. "Why? Why? What the hell? How do they know? How did they find out?" My feet continue to move as my hair falls in my face again. I groan, tucking the loose strands behind my ear.

"I'm going to jail. Yup, my father is going to take everything I have because he's going to find out I'm a fucking lesbian and he's going to refuse to help bail me out because I'm sleeping with a freaking woman, which is against everything he believes!" I suck in air, desperately trying to catch my breath but continue pacing.

My chest began to ache, and it's as if there is a drum beating against it. "Do you hear that? Do you h...? What's that noise?" I stop pacing for a second, then sigh when I realize it's me. "Shit. My heart is beating right out my chest because your parents are going to eat me up and spit me out in jail. I'm too puny to be there. My hands are so small. What if I drop the soap and become some big bitches little bitch?"

To say I'm freaking out is an understatement. I feel like I'm going to pass out, and within the first 5 minutes of telling me this information, this woman has said nothing to me. I glance her way, and she's grinning.

"Seriously Valiana? Like why are you not worried? Is it because it's only my life in jeopardy here... or like you just don't give a damn?" I feel like I'm about to throw up. I rush to the bathroom and hurl into the toilet. I feel hands in my hair pulling it into a ponytail. Shit, I needed her to do that when I was fighting with it while pacing back and forth distraught a second ago. It's a good thing I'm throwing up because the news made me sick to my stomach and nothing else. I paid thousands of dollars to be able to bear children only when I am ready and not by accident. And I am most definitely not ready.

"You done freaking out yet?" she says as I flush the toilet. I push past her and brush my teeth before using my mouth wash.

"I don't see how you are not Valé. Your parents know that you are sleeping with your teacher. I know you're a smart woman but right now, you're acting really slow... like this information hasn't reach that big ass brain of yours yet." She smirks and kisses my cheek walking away from me. I follow her and watch as she begins to get dressed.

"It has reached my brain, Love." She jumps into her pants and zips them. "That's the reason I did not come over. I had to talk to the three of them last night." My palms grow sweaty, and my legs move faster in a back-and-forth motion. Three of them. Like not even just one all of her parents know.

She grabs me, and I glance at her body in only pants, socks, and a sports bra. Ugh, I want to push her back down and ride her all day, but it's not happening because all that's on my mind is... "I'm going to fucking jail."

"Look at me Deleena." She raises my face forcing me to look at her and kisses my lips. I start to calm down. Why is she so calm about all of this? "You are not going to jail."

"How do you knowwww?" I whine, and she starts chuckling again. She wraps her arms around my neck, pulling me closer to her. I love that she's taller than me, that my face rests right at the perfect height on her chest.

"Because I am testing out on Monday. I will no longer be a student at Clearwater High. You will no longer be my teacher. We will no longer need to fear you going to jail for sleeping with me. All I want to do is protect you, Deleena. And the only way for me to do that was to tell them the truth. The whole truth."
