The Boy Who Lived.

He was only a year old when a drunk madman sped into his parent's car at over a hundred miles per hour. The result of the collision was horrifying.

Lily and James Potter were killed on impact, flames hungrily devouring their dead corpses. It was no use trying to save them, yet people tried regardless, in hopes they saved someone's life.

Once the car's flames were tamed and pulled out, the dead couple's bodies were unrecognisable. A sickening sight that traumatised innocents.

When the wreckage of the car was being taken away, a car seat rolled out of the it. It was burned and falling apart, a grey blanket of ash coating it.

A panicked mother ran towards the seat, leaving her own child sleeping in a pushchair.

She almost fainted once she looked inside the car seat.

A boy, no, a baby was inside. Sleeping soundly, unfazed, untouched. Except from this one peculiar scar on his forehead, shaped like lightning.

And at the exact moment the baby's scar was revealed, lightning struck. It was an ethereal experience for the woman who tried to save him. She thought she went mad.

That scar, lightning and the fact that the baby, no less than one, survived was what made him so special in the news. The media attention and publicity was a lot to handle for the poor godfather.

So he was sent to his aunts. They didn't mind the publicity. In fact, they adored it. Gift baskets and money was sent to the family that took him in as respect, out of sympathy.

People felt terrible that two lives were so brutally lost.

Petunia and Vernon Dursley did not.

All they enjoyed was the attention. And the money. The government was paying them monthly for adopting the orphan.

With the gifts they were given, they didn't need to buy the baby anything. The government money went towards their child, Dudley. And themselves.

The Boy Who Lived received no love and no attention in his new house. Everything he loved was burned, ruined and gone.

His life, in a few minutes, was very different.

The sad thing is, the only people who gave him love were his own parents. He was too young to remember that. His house was not his home, and his family were merely blood.

He never remembered being loved.

The Potters' had a dashcam. Months after the crash, it was finally given to the Dursley's, who - because they wanted more attention and money - published the last seen footage.

It was Lily Potter holding her sleeping baby's hand before the car hit them.

Miraculously, the dashcam survived the entire crash, just like the baby. The footage after the crash was heartbreaking, seeing the car hit the right side of theirs, and killing the older two on impact.

Watching the flames engulf their bodies was also horrible to watch.

Yet it felt surreal to actually watch the baby stay in a blissful sleep the entire time.

It was hard to believe that the baby survived the entire thing to everyone who wasn't there. A lot of people believed it was a publicity stunt. For god knows what.

So actually watching the baby sleep safe and sound with the video proven to be real, was shocking.

And the Dursley's got what they wanted. Tons of money and lots of gift baskets.

The grave of Lily and James was also visited often, and lots of flowers were left there. Someone even found the car key that slipped out of the car when it flipped over and left it in the middle of their stones.

Their grave was like a public visiting monument considering the town was rather small and cosy. The Potter's were very well-liked too.

Three years and seven months after the horrifying crash, the media had finally stopped reporting it. The crazy man responsible for the whole incident was found and he was put in custody until his trials.

He'd been rumoured to have a problem with James and Lily for reasons no one was able to discover.

Once the trials started, his friend's wife came forward with a recording that proved the accident wasn't really an accident, and that the whole thing was pre-planned.

It also proved that the accused had attempted this multiple times before and failed.

The judge and jury lost it when they found out his motive was to kill the child.

First degree murder; he was sentenced to life.

Tom Marvolo Riddle hung himself in his prison cell three weeks after.
