CHAPTER THREE | LIVE AND LET DIE

A CONSTANT, IRRITATING BANGING ON RILEY'S FRONT DOOR WAS ALL SHE COULD HEAR AS SHE STIRRED HER COFFEE. At first, she considered just ignoring whoever was at her front door purely out of spite, but the knocking eventually grew louder and more constant with every a few moments. A grunt of annoyance finally left her lips as she took the spoon from her cup, placed it on the side and headed toward the front door.
"Okay! Okay. I'm coming." The little witch irritably grumbled as she swung the front door open to reveal Klaus Mikaelson within her doorway. He greeted her with a smile, though Riley knew that for whatever reason he chose to darken her door, it wouldn't be good.
"Elijah informed me that you are willing to be of assistance should my family need it. And, right now, we do." Klaus vaguely spoke, his British tones lingering through her ears as she furrowed her brows. "Perhaps I might come inside?"
Riley tilted her head, considering her options for a moment. She knew exactly what Klaus was like, and she wasn't sure she wanted to give him the ability to freely enter her apartment whenever he saw fit. "Whatever you need, you can ask me without needing to come in."
Klaus heavily exhaled. "Trust is a funny thing, isn't it? You see, my brother trusts you, which means that in an extremely roundabout way, I might, too." As he spoke, Riley's arms still remained crossed over her chest. "I give you my assurance that no harm will come to you by my hand."
"Good enough." The witch rolled her eyes, shrugging as she finally stepped aside. "Come in."
"Thank you, Riley." The Hybrid stepped into the witch's apartment and his eyes began to linger on every single surface. "I need a locator spell on your little friend, Davina Claire, it seems that since the run-in Elijah had with my father, she has been missing."
"Right, well I need something that belongs to her." Riley told the Hybrid, her attention taken on the array of candles she had began to place on a table. Eventually, she looked up and noticed Klaus held Davina's hairbrush within his grip. The witch set down the hairbrush down in the centre of the table, clamping her eyes shut. "Incedia." She whispered as every single candle in front of her ignited. "Phasmatos Tribum, Nas Ex Veras, Sequitas Sanguinem. Phasmatos Tribum, Nas Ex Veras, Sequitas Sanguinem."
Klaus grew concerned when he noticed the witch's brows knit together with confusion. "What is it?"
"She's cloaked herself. I— I can't get a clear reading." Riley held the spell for a moment, until she jolted backward. Her eyes fluttered open, locking with Klaus'. "She's in Terrebonne Parish. That's as much as I can get."
"Davina's family. They own a cabin in Terrebonne Parish." The Hybrid mused once he had worked out the location of the missing witch. "Thank you for the help, Riley."
