CHAPTER ELEVEN | THEY ALL ASKED FOR YOU

─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───

A LOT HAD CHANGED IN THE WEEKS THAT HAD PASSED SINCE JACKSON AND HAYLEY'S WEDDING. Due to the compound being overrun, Elijah had taken up residence over the pond, in Algiers and though Riley had her own apartment, she spent a lot of time staying with Elijah. She and Rebekah had also grown closer since Kol's untimely the night of the wedding. the Mikaelson vowed to bring her brother back in whatever way she could. Given that Rebekah was in the body of a witch, Riley and Davina were the only two witches she knew that would help.

Elijah raised an eyebrow as he stepped out from his bathroom to see Riley in the kitchen. He admired the sight of the strawberry-blonde witch wandering around preparing coffee. "What an exquisite sight to wake up to."

"You might just have to start getting used to it." Riley grinned innocently and slid a black coffee toward the Original vampire. He accepted the cup with a thankful nod and then sauntered over to the couch. "What're your plans for today?"

A soft sigh left Elijah's lips as he took his seat. "I was thinking perhaps I might pay a visit to Marcel's band of merry vampires. What about you?"

"Uh, well since everything that happened to Kol, I told Rebekah and Davina I'd lend a hand in trying to find a way to bring him back." Riley tucked her hair behind her ear as she recalled the night of Kol's death.

"That means a lot. But, please be careful, Riley." The Original vampire warned her with a sincere look. Riley knew that Elijah had just lost his brother, and despite him being reluctant to show his feelings about it, she knew it hurt him. "I don't wish to lose anyone else."

"You won't." The witch gave him a sure look, and a smile. "I was thinking that perhaps I should go back to my own apartment today. I mean, I've been here for, what? A week? Surely you're getting sick of—"

"—No. No, I am not getting sick of you." Elijah interjected. He had caught the witch by surprise by the immediate response. "I would like nothing more than for you to stay here, but if you wish to return home I won't stand in your way." Elijah's attention was taken by his phone vibrating on the coffee table in front of him. "Rebekah?"

"I've just been bloody attacked by Treme witches." The frantic woman spoke down the phone. She was clearly shaken by the event, and could barely get her words out.

"What?" Elijah's eyes widened fearfully. "Where are you?"

"Are you alright?" Was the first thing that Elijah said the moment that he and Riley arrived at Marcel's loft to check on the Mikaelson girl.

"Barely." Rebekah's attention moved over to Riley and Elijah as soon as they entered. "The attackers knew me, Elijah. Not me me. But, this—" She gestured to the body she currently inhabited. "Her. Whoever she is. They want her dead."
