CHAPTER FIVE | BEAUTIFUL MISTAKE

RILEY AND FREYA BOTH STEPPED INTO THE COMPOUND AND WERE IMMEDIATELY MET WITH COMPLETE AND UTTER CHAOS. There was several broken chairs, tables and shattered bourbon bottles all cast across the courtyard as if there had been a fight. Riley felt nothing but fear as she glanced to Freya, who looked just as panicked as she did— if not more. Their eyes finally caught sight of both Klaus and Elijah. The eldest of the two was nursing a Hybrid bite, courtesy of Klaus, who was draining his blood into a cup.
"What the hell happened?" Riley irritably spat toward Klaus. Her eyes fluttered over to Elijah. His shirt upon his arm was torn completely off and there was bloodstains covering both Mikaelson men.
"We had a little chat about the past." Klaus simply stated with a slight smirk that quickly faded into a straight-face expression.
"I politely informed Niklaus that I'm not his enemy. And though they entered the city under the guise of peace, Tristan and Lucien in truth are allied against us." Elijah carried on from his brother's vague explanation. "A fact that required a little it of gentle persuasion."
"And so, I reminded Elijah who angered them in the first place."
Freya scoffed quietly, folding her arms across her chest. "And after all of this civil discourse, what understanding did you come to?"
"That we expose and destroy our first sired."
Smirking at Elijah's short and simply response to Freya, Klaus slid a tumbler of his blood in front of his brother. "Couldn't agree with you more. You see, gentlemen know when it's time to call a truce and turn our fury in a more pertinent direction."
The pair clinked their glasses together, thereby ending their feud within seconds. "You two are unbelievable." Riley scoffed.

The one thing Riley adored about New Orleans was the coffee. Wandering down the busy sidewalk with a coffee in hand and listening to the jazz as she walked was one of her favourite ways to start her mornings, despite whatever was going on. However, her attention was taken by a man who's eyes lingered upon her from the opposite side of the road. Feeling immediately uneasy by the encounter, she downed her coffee and placed it in a nearby trash can before she strode down a back alley and sped out of view.
Almost instantly, the man following Riley had entered the alley with a confused look across his face. Speeding behind him, catching him off guard, Riley entered her hand. "Motus." Using her magic, the man was pinned against the wall of the alley as she held her hand outward in front of her. "You've got about three seconds to tell me why you're tailing me before I burn your insides."
