After that day, Shé Famei began to frequently go in and out of the information guild to start her work.
As the boss had promised, she got her a pass to the black market and found a suitable building that she can use as a live in store. The location was also quite strategic too, as it was located near the center of the black market's intersection. Plus, the other part of the building is disguised as a medicine store for those in the light market. Getting 2 birds with one stone, this boss lady is indeed very capable.
On the following days to come, Shé Famei began to concoct medicine and poison alike for the information guild. She doesn't care whether they use it for assassination or not, she just does her work the best she can. Some demonic creatures do enjoy a little spice of poison from time to time with their food after all.
In the day, she opened a medicine store under the guild's name. Surprisingly people kept rushing in on the early opening days because they trusted that this store was under the direct protection of the city Lord. Shé Famei thought, so it's true that the city Lord was truly the boss's puppet.
Her Day store in the part of the light market are more like a pharmacy that prescribed medicine rather than a doctor's hospital. She just make medicine, store them with the occasional help of Shé Baihua and wrote down their names and effects for the people to see on display.
This method of selling pre made medicine by display felt like a unique thing for the people in this day and age. Though Shé Famei herself thought that it was a normal thing thanks to her semi modern mind. The people in the day would come to her store, tell her of their symptoms, and she will prescribe them medicine based on their sickness.
From there, they can choose on what to buy in the medicine display. Pay her, then consume the practical medicine later at home or on the way to work. On occasional situations, she would even provide an acupunture treatment for her patients. Of course with right price, that is.
But at night, her store changes into a completely different thing. The display of practical medicine, was replaced by many types of potions and poison alike. At night, Shé Baihua helped her with her sales in the black market. Although the innocent Shé Baihua never questioned why does this night market looked so weird and felt very odd, she still helps out her sister sell her thing regardless.
Shé Baihua knew that it was her family's traditions to be able to make poison, and her sister excells at it. Shé Baihua herself never wanted to touch the family business because she doesn't want to have anything to do with hurting someone. But because of her current affiliation with Shé Famei, shé must throw away her thoughts and grow up a bit. This is truly the real world, not one that little Shé Baihua had imagined back then.
At night, Shé Famei would concoct her poison as fragrant as possible. As if it was food actually. If her store at the day seemed like a pharmacy, her store at night looked like a candy store with seemingly delicious yet deadly delicacies. Her regular customers in the black market are :
- Secret guards of influential families that needed an abundance of poison to increase their master's resistance.
- Assasins that ran out of stock.
- Demons that wanted to try a bit of poison to strengthening their wacky cultivation.
- Maid servants or guards of the wife or concubine of a noble who wanted to end their love rivals.
- Courtesans and prostitutes from the red light district that needed some aphrodisiac incense and birth prevention supplements.
- Mad doctors or psychopaths?? That wanted to try experimenting someone with a bit of poison.
