I decided to go to the lounge. I mean, it's a safe bet, right? The last time I came here I spent time with Finn, and that wasn't bad. So what's the worst that can happen here?
Sure, I might talk to some weirdo but honestly, most of the people here are weird anyway. I wouldn't be surprised.
I peeked inside the lounge to see Ryoko at one of the tables, fiddling around with a chess piece.
Ok, maybe I take it back. Based on what she went on about yesterday, Ryoko may be way more than just a weirdo. To find this whole killing game fun is just bizarre.
I can't say I'm not interested though...
But she can be pretty freaky.
Before I could even decide on whether I wanted to stay or not, Ryoko spotted me and smirked.
Crap.
She extended her hand and gestured for me to come over gracefully.
It looks like I don't have a choice...
I sighed and entered the room, walking over to Ryoko and taking a seat opposite her.
"My oh my, were you trying to run away from me, Chiyo?" She playfully tilted her head. "Tut tut. That simply won't do. I don't want to scare you off."
"Are you sure about that? That stunt you pulled yesterday probably did more than just scare people." I replied.
"Oh, but that wasn't a stunt. I was just expressing my feelings and telling the truth! Nothing wrong with that." She tapped her chin. "In fact, you're all the ones who made a big deal of it. In this, I may as well be the victim for speaking my mind."
"Sure. Miss 'I'm the biggest threat'." I mocked her.
"Well, you remembered!" She smiled. "I'm so glad. None of the others would understand."
"Huh?"
"They would all underestimate me...But they've got no clue for what I've got in store. I just want to make this fun after all." Ryoko continued. "Nothing wrong with that. I truly am the biggest threat, and I mean that."
"Fun...? Is this really just some entertainment to you?"
"Well, not exactly. Nothing really entertaining has happened yet, has it?"
I just blankly stared at her.
She is seriously strange.
"But go on, tell me why you're here. You obviously had a reason to come to this place." She turned her attention toward me.
"I don't know...I just wanted to find someone to kill time with." I shrugged.
"Ah...Killing time." She nodded. "Then how about you indulge me over a game of chess? I'm sure plenty of time would be killed. And I would never deny an opportunity to talk to a girl as fascinating as you."
I still don't get what she finds so special about me.
"So? Will you join me for a match?" She asked again.
-
Should I play with Ryoko?
> - Yes <
- No
-"I guess...? But what's the point? You'll win anyway." I pointed out.
"At least give it a chance. I may find chess a bit boring nowadays but that doesn't mean I'll just not play." Ryoko said.
"Well...then fine." I gave in.
