Making sure I had everything, I promptly closed the door behind me and walked down my front steps to meet Satoshi.
Since I wasn't available yesterday - as I was busy dealing with Shimura - Satoshi and I would walk together from now on.
I...can't say I'm annoyed about it. Having a routine is nice. Though, I was so used to walking with Hidemi...
But Satoshi's a great guy. So I'm sure it will feel normal eventually.
"Hey," I initiated the conversation. "How did it go with Kenjiro last night?"
"Oh, it went well." He weakly smiled. "I had a lot to talk about with...Hidemi now gone. But as per usual, Kenjiro listened and was able to help me. He's...really amazing."
"Right." I nodded, folding my arms. "So when is the wedding? Tomorrow or...?" I trailed off.
"C-Chiyo...!" He exclaimed, almost tripping over himself.
"What? It was a genuine question."
"There...There is no such thing a-as...a wedding! Kenjiro and I are not getting married. Not here! Not now! N-Not...Not ever!" He flimsily tried to argue.
"Can I be at least your best man? I'm great at organising and can throw a killer party."
I...really regret my phrasing on that last sentence considering the last party I went to.
"...You were my first option for the role in my dream. And your party was pretty good." He sighed.
"W-Wait, you actually dreamed about a wedding between you and Ken-"
"No comment!" He firmly concluded, not wanting to continue.
"Geez...You really do love dudes. Every single guy you talk about you somehow admire and have an obvious crush on." I just carried on speaking.
"You're one to talk." He playfully scoffed. "Any time you get a compliment from a girl your face goes red. I've seen it myself."
"H-Huh?!? No, it does not!" I argued.
"It does! Especially when that compliment was from Hidemi!"
"C...Come on!" I backed out, realising he was right.
"Exactly. If I love guys then you definitely love girls just as much." He ended his argument.
"I suppose you're right," I admitted, lowering my head. "Touché."
In the end, our playful squabble just ended in us laughing it off as we reached the dining room doors. When I pushed them open and stepped inside, all of our giggles ceased.
"Well if it isn't the leaders of the oh-so-popular Hidemi fan club!" A loud and obnoxious voice introduced us as we entered, causing my happy mood to turn sour straight away.
With no surprise, I looked up and saw that the voice belonged to Ryoko, who much like the other times she was planning to mess stuff up, was standing in the middle of the room.
Yuna sat off in the comer by herself while Kenjiro, Shouko and Kokoro occupied one table together. It seemed like Ryoko had been talking to the latter, seeing as their facial expressions were a mixture of confusion and distress.
As much as I want to run away from Ryoko so I don't have to hear her idiotic blabber...I should at least try to stay here. Not only for breakfast but for my friends.
Yet Ryoko just has to be here to irritate me practically every day. So part of me can't help but wonder what bizarre idea she has in store for us today.
