I stood by my dresser, sipping a fresh, steaming cup of coffee I had just made with Shimura's machine.

For once, I had woken up before the announcement even played, not having slept well at all.

I was too busy thinking about that morgue. When I was there last night, it just seemed creepy, so I brushed it off...

But was that really it?

That's not even mentioning the fact that Yukari got murdered. And only a few hours later, Tatsuo got executed as well...

It feels like just yesterday I was standing here, reminding myself of Tatsuo's words against this whole killing game, and now look. All of that just for a talent...

And now we have them back. Mine is still completely useless though with my dumb rule!

But, now things are going to be extremely different. We won't have Yukari getting mad and belittling us anymore for the slightest of things. And we won't have Tatsuo leading us and making decisions with Hidemi anymore.

But we still have Ryoko...Isn't she just the best?

Yeah right. She's just here to cause chaos and entertain herself! Plus she can be a pain in my ass, always messing shit up...

I just wonder what kind of weird things she's got prepared for us next case...I really hope it's nothing.

Wait, next case?

Why the hell am I assuming there's going to be another murder?

That...That can't happen, right? Not with Tatsuo's words...

But with him gone, I guess some of us have lost hope.

Gah, I have no clue anymore!

That's when I yawned.

"Geez, how tired am I?" I groaned, resting my head in my hand while my mug was in the other, staring out the window. "...Damn, I miss sleeping next to Hidemi. At least I actually could sleep near her. And what a nice rest it was..."

By the time the morning announcement rolled by and I was through two cups of coffee, I fixed my blazer and adjusted my bag before opening the door, expecting to see Hidemi there to take me to breakfast as usual.

However, instead I saw Satoshi, leaning against one of the wooden poles at the foot of my cabin, fiddling with the square button on his sleeve.

"Hey...?" I called out to him, slightly confused by his presence.

"Oh, finally you're here." He sighed, standing up straight. "Does Hidemi usually wait this long for you...? I was getting worried."

"No, she doesn't!" I replied. "Wait, why isn't she here? And why did you..."

"...Come instead?" He finished my sentence.

"Yeah, exactly." I nodded. "Did I scare Hidemi off or something yesterday?"

"No...The opposite actually. She talks about you a lot, and when Hidemi is not doing that...she's probably thinking about you." He admitted. "As for why I'm here, I'm not entirely sure myself."

"Seriously?" I crossed my arms. "That fits. I thought you would've been with Kenjiro."

"Yeah...I was. But Hidemi sent me here to come get you. She acted like it was an opportunity for us to bond or something?" He shrugged. "I-I really don't know what that girl is thinking."
