I entered my cabin with a deep sigh, immediately throwing my bag across my bed before letting my back hit the bed as I fell on it, staring at the ceiling.
This feeling of impending doom that keeps lurking around these camping grounds...it's too much, even for me! I'm starting to feel all icky and shit.
As I stared in silence visualising the countdown, I remembered I had to send Shimura a message.
Well, if he even replies.
I fished my handbook out of my bag and tapped on the messaging app, selected Shimura's name and thought of what to write.
Let's say...Hm...
'Hey, you should be more careful. Shouko knows you're alive and she may not be a threat of any kind to you and your goals. I still doubt she would cause any harm to you as well.
But still...lie low for a bit, ok?'
Great. Now with a message out of the way, I can waste more time doing absolutely nothing.
But...is that seriously all there is for me to do?!?
Whatever. I suppose since I'm here, I'll take a nap. It's not like I'll manage to handle that countdown tonight and sleep probably, so I as well do all my sleeping right now.
I eventually closed my eyes, falling asleep momentarily with my handbook in my hands.
However, my tiny moment of peace was quickly robbed by the sounds and vibrations coming from my handbook, signalling some notifications.
"...Seriously?" I exhaled a deep breath.
Forget about that nap then.
I sat up and turned my handbook on once more, the screen displaying my name as I tapped on the messaging app, hoping those notifications were from Shimura.
Yet when the app loaded, my expectations were crushed to see that not only had Shimura not replied, but he hadn't even seen the messages.
I get that I only sent them a bit ago...but come on! He should check his handbook. What else does he have to do when he's cooped up in a morgue all day?
Instead, the messages had come from a group chat that had all of us.
Well...it had all of us initially. With so many deaths, the last few of us were the only ones remaining in the chat.
Except for Ryoko. I made the smart decision to remove her.
"If she's going to be all secretive, then why should she know what we're up to?" I scoffed, mumbling to myself as I tapped to open the chat.
Satoshi had messaged the group, informing us that Monokuma had left something for us in the dining hall and that we should all go to check it out.
"Might as well. It's not like I have plans." I thought out loud, rubbing my eyes as I slipped my handbook back into my bag.
Back to the dining hall, I guess...
-
With both hands, I pushed open the dining room's doors to see everyone else already there, huddled around something in the centre of the room.
"Huh? What's going on?" I asked but got no response. So without a choice, I cautiously approached the group, standing on the tips of my toes to peer over them and observe what they were seeing.
And that's when I saw it.
In the centre was a professionally laid out table for the four of us with napkins, red cloth, a vase of flowers and even candles. At the table were four chairs, each with a silver tray with a lid before it and a name card for one of us.
