With a yawn and a stretch, I opened the doors to the dining room and stepped inside, making my way straight toward Hidemi's table without a second thought. Pulling the chair out before me, I took a seat beside the defence attorney.

"Morning, Chiyo." She greeted me immediately with a smile, pushing a plate topped with a grilled cheese towards me. "Finn already made this for you."

"That's great," I replied and then glanced at her. "How'd you sleep?"

"Quite well, actually! I suppose all those arcade games really made me tired." She chuckled.

"I'm still glad you had a good time." I then glanced at the boy in front of me. "What about you?"

"H-Huh?" Satoshi perked up once I included him in the conversation, clearly not expecting it. "What...are you talking about?"

"I'm just asking how you slept last night. Geez."

I should've expected that he didn't listen to us. Satoshi was busy staring at Kenjiro who was going over the story notes that he had prepared.

"I didn't get any rest last night." He admitted. "I was working on characters as Chiyo said..."

"I-I never said for you not to sleep over it!" I exclaimed.

"I know you like writing but I'd rather you...actually rested well, Satoshi," Hidemi added, giving a sympathetic look to her stepbrother.

"... It's not a big deal, seriously." He sighed.

"Y-You should be sleeping consistently though..." Kenjiro spoke up, sliding the book back over to Satoshi. "Even if it's just a nap, you can rest at my lab later today after our meeting. I-If you want."

"...O-Ok," Satoshi responded, taking the book while brushing hands with Kenjiro.

Why are those two so awkward...? At least their discussions go pretty well at Kenjiro's lab.

As usual, we ate breakfast while discussing whatever came into our minds. Unsurprisingly, Akihiro was recording yet again, but I wasn't bothered to tell him off.

Well, someone else was bothered too.

"Seriously, Akihiro?" Kairi groaned. "Again?!?"

"Hm...?" he hummed, not registering she was pissed off.

"We are literally just eating breakfast. Do you really have to record that too?" She crossed her arms and glared. "Some of us don't want to be filmed, ya know."

Kairi then looked over at Yuna.

"...U-Um," Yuna mumbled. From her face, I can tell it's a mix of irritation and nerves. It's like she gets slightly more annoyed every day.

"Just put it down for a bit, Aki." I rolled my eyes at his antics.

"Huh?!?" He then snapped towards me. "But Chiyo...You know why-"

"I don't care right now. If those two don't want it, you shouldn't film them." I shrugged. "Try again tomorrow or something."

"I..." Akihiro seemed hesitant, but reluctantly lowered the handbook and placed it on his lap.

"That wasn't too hard, was it?" I tilted my head."

"I guess not." He awkwardly looked away.

Yuna let out a sigh of relief and weakly smiled. "Thank you."

I shot Yuna a quick thumbs up before returning to my meal. Once most of us were done, Hidemi stood up.

"I'm sure you all are very tired or shaken up by everything that has occurred." She began, addressing us all. "I mean, after witnessing five deaths, who wouldn't be? It's...heartbreaking."
