Slowly, I awoke as my eyes fluttered open to adjusting to my surroundings.
Looks like I fell asleep in the morgue...
My head was still resting upon Shimura's shoulder, yet there were some changes compared to what I remembered last night.
For starters, Shimura had taken his lab coat off overnight and draped it over us to help me sleep.
Well, I suppose that was his intention, yet it appeared it helped both of us seeing as Shimura was fast asleep, his head leaning back against the metal wall with his arms folded across his chest and sleeves rolled up to his forearm. Even his glasses were tilted and hung at the edge of his nose while his chest rose and relaxed with every soft snore he made while an out-of-place hair clip (which I assumed belonged to Akihiro) dangled off of his hair.
"...And I was supposed to be the one resting a bunch. Typical." I initially scoffed before chuckling, standing up while making sure not to wake him up.
Every time I come down here, Shimura does end up treating me to free coffee and shit like that, so I guess it's time I return the favour seeing as I am the first one up.
I opened one of the doors and pulled out what I hoped to be his appliances and such, yet accidentally pulled out the tray that held each one of his ties. Just as Akihiro said before, they were organised with little labels on top of each pile, varying from colours to weather to days of the week.
Why would one guy need so many damn ties? Each one even had its own pattern...I guess he really wasn't kidding when he said Shimura had a massive collection...
But like I said before, what's the point of so many ties when no one's gonna see them?!?
That was all the tray contained, as in a corner there was a pile of spare supplies such as pens, gloves, masks and even buttons if he happened to lose one, each marked with what I assumed to be the logo of the pharmaceutical company he worked for.
Yet what caught my eye the most were two folded pieces of paper tucked under one pile of ties.
Is this me snooping into Shimura's personal business? Well...
Well, yeah. It is. It's not like I can deny it.
But I'm curious. And I'd cut myself some slack...the guy is mysterious. Who knows what he does when he's by himself? What if he's a freak or some shit?
So...A peek won't hurt or whatever.
I pulled out the two pieces of paper and set them out in front of me, picking up the one that seemed newer and not as crinkled before opening it carefully.
But I paused.
The paper showed me a map of the entire camping grounds, seemingly copy and pasted from our handbooks in black and white. Yet it was different, a hidden room being revealed under the clock tower. Furthermore, it had other symbols, such as showing where each camera, speaker and other significant things were.
"W-What the...?" I mumbled under my breath, the room being marked with an X in red pen
This map is pretty accurate, but the room...Is it the trial room? But why would Shimura find that significant?
What if it's a secret room then?
Below the map also had a long list, split into three columns. I skimmed through it, but couldn't help but stop and gasp in shock and confusion at certain words.
"Scalpel...Poison...Revolver...R-Rifle?!?" I exclaimed, yet immediately hushed myself when I remembered Shimura was still asleep just meters away from me, and sitting upright against the wall.
