"K-Kokoro...is what...?" I weakly asked, looking at Ryoko as she finally died down from her hysterical laughter, yet that disgusting and resisted expression of absolute euphoria remained on her face.
She was clearly pleased with herself after completely outing Kokoro and throwing her under the bus.
But...That doesn't change the fact that...
"Kokoro is the blackened," Ryoko repeated, struggling to not burst out laughing again once she said it. "How many times do I have to repeat myself? It's not rocket science. And you all have no problem believing Chiyo when she reveals the killer? Why is it all of a sudden different with me?"
"B-Because...you're you," Shouko stated the obvious.
"I see no issue with being 'me.'" The chess player replied, folding her arms and holding her head high. "In fact, if there's anyone you should have issues with...it should be Kokoro! She's the damn murderer in the room after all! Well...except for Satoshi. How could I forget how he's also a brutal killer-"
"N-Not now!" I cried out, cutting her off. "We're...focusing on Kokoro. Not me!"
"Hmph." She shrugged. "Whatever. Kokoro is still the killer. I have no reason to lie anymore."
"Are...Are you kidding me?!?" Kenjiro said. "Y-You crave people's attention...You could still be lying and be the killer."
"Ha! Seriously Kenjiro? Be quiet and think for a moment, will you? Clearly, someone as simple-minded as you shouldn't be the Ultimate Psychologist with a mindset like that." She chuckled.
"What are you-"
"You see," she interrupted him. "I have absolutely nothing to gain anymore from lying in this trial. And since my life is much more valuable than Kokoro's, then I see no need to hide the truth anymore. Besides, it's what you wanted...the truth!"
"N-Not...like this." The psychologist sighed, realising how hopeless the situation was.
"It's not like I want to die here at this moment in time. What a waste that would be...So I might as well tell you who the real culprit is so you morons don't vote me out of spite! She concluded. "It appears I don't even have to do anymore more convincing. Her sudden silence is proof enough! Ha, how sad is that...!"
Ryoko was right since Kokoro was yet to say another word. Her mouth was just hung agape as she struggled to even speak, the shock still fresh in her mind from being suddenly exposed.
"Aw, just look at her!" Ryoko chuckled. "It's always so hilarious watching people realise they're done for, don't you agree?"
"S-Shut up." Shouko stammered, ignoring her question entirely before turning to our main suspect. "Kokoro...Tell us it's not true. I-I mean, you could never kill anyone!"
"Exactly..." Kenjiro joined in, leaning forward over his podium to get a better look at her face. "This is just...one of Ryoko's sick tricks, right? Satoshi," he then turned to me. "You can prove she's wrong...right?"
Oh crap...What's with all this sudden pressure?
But if I take what Ryoko is saying and really break it down then...
No...Ryoko has to be right.
The blackened can't be her seeing as she was attacking Chiyo. And it definitely can't be Chiyo either.
It's obviously not me and if it were Kenjiro...Well, thanks to his wristband, we'd all be dead.
As for Shouko...She gave us an account. She could have faked it, but I doubt it.
That...That only leaves Kokoro.
Kokoro...Has to be the blackened. There is no doubt about it in my mind: Kokoro murdered Yuna.
