Hi all! I'm back. Sorry for not posting last week! Some family issues came up and I've been busy with softball. Anyhow, where were we? This chapter will be very light on angst, but still has mentions of self-doubt so just be aware of that. Now, enjoy!

Amity POV:

*drip. drip. drip.*

I slowly opened my eyes.

*drip. drip. drip.*

Water fell on my nose and I awoke. I looked up at the ceiling which was leaking again. It took more effort to pull myself away from the dripping cold water than I anticipated.. but at least I managed to do it. I was still in my cat form, and I couldn't do anything about it. I didn't have the strength to transform; I hardly had the strength to move. Every part of me ached, and I could barely think straight. My ears were ringing and my vision was a blur. I needed water—who knows how long it's been since I had something to drink..

I guess the leaking ceiling wasn't so bad after all. I lapped the water from the puddle on the ground, and my head started to lighten. Slowly my senses relaxed and things started to come into focus. That's when the smell hit me—the smell of blood. I looked at the blood stains on the floor but quickly turned away. They reminded me of last night, and I didn't want to think about that.

My wounds weren't bleeding much anymore but they were still bothering me a bit, so I started licking them. There was a med kit in the corner but it wasn't very useful to me in my current form. Paws aren't the best tools for wrapping bandages. Regardless, I felt a bit better after cleaning myself up. I looked up at the ceiling again, past the leaking pipe and at the cracks in the floor. The courtyard is above the west side of the basement, which meant I could see a tiny bit of light coming through. It appeared to be late morning—or midday. How long had I even been out for?

That wasn't particularly important at the moment. I just had to wait till someone let me out. My stomach was rumbling by now, but I proceeded to ignore it. I gathered my strength to stand; it hurt to move, but I wanted to go somewhere more comfortable. I shakily walked over to the corner of the room where there was a small rug. I laid down and let sleep take me.

Luz POV:

I walked away from Ed and Em. I don't know why but I felt their explanation to be a bit.. off. Something wasn't adding up. Well, at least I knew it wasn't Amity's decision to avoid me—at least that's what I hope. It's not my fault. I mean it could be.. but no, it's fine. Amity loves me.

I brushed away any negative ideas and tried to be cheerful for Willow and Gus. I actually had a good time for the majority of lunch. We talked about various things—sports, human world things, coven stuff. Then we got to the history project..

"Gus, you already had your history presentation, right?" Asked Willow.

"Yup! The Disappearance of Giraffes! I think it went well. Although the class seemed to find it boring.."

"Did you talk mostly about them in the human realm?"

"I mean yeah!! What were you expec—"

Their conversation began to fade into the background as I started thinking of Amity again. We had history last period, but she's probably not going to show up today.

"Luz"

I didn't really feel ready to present, not without Amity being there..

"Luz?"

She always made me feel more confident. Maybe I could ask to present tomorrow?

"Luz!"

I snapped back into reality and looked up at Willow calling me.
