10 - The Truth

HI GUYS! I'm back—it's been like 2 weeks or more? I lost track.. it's been too long. Anyway, I'm on summer break now and updates will return to normal.. But regarding this chapter: There will be a angst that will feature PTSD. I will section off the entire angst section and put a summary afterwards so you can skip over it if you'd like! Anyhow, hope you enjoy!

Amity POV:

"So it wasn't dad who got cursed?"

"No, it was Odalia," said Ed.

"And dad was the one who cursed her?"

Ed and Em nodded their heads at me.

"Why though?"

"Because she was born with an abnormally large bile sac," said Ed.

"I.. what? I didn't think that was possible.. I—I thought that was just a myth.."

"Nope."

"Sorry but," Luz joined in on the conversation, "What do you mean she has an 'abnormally large bile sac?'"

"Well since our magic comes from our bile sac," explained Em, "And mother's is abnormally large, her magic.. Well her magic is—"

"Dangerous," finished my brother, "Her magic is dangerous. She would pretty much be able to do whatever she wants."

"Wait, so.. what's the issue," I asked, "If Odalia is cursed, then.. it restrains her dangerous magic, right?"

"It did restrain her."

All four of us turned to see my dad at the door. Alador stared at us with a mixture of concern and uncertainty.

"But now she knows, and she's not hesitant to get the curse removed. She.. she already left to do so. And once she's cured, there's no telling how much more powerful she'll be."

(Still Amity POV:) My ears fell flat against my hair.. More powerful? Mo—mORE POWERFUL? I really hadn't thought of it all so much until I realized that her dangerous magic would be a reality. Mother was already powerful. She already could do so much damage, and yet—that.. that was barely ANY of her power? I—I couldn't. No. I can't! She.. she could hurt me. She going to hurt me.

Luz POV:

"It did restrain her."

I turned around to see Amity's father at the doorway. He seemed worried. I mean I guess I am too. I would never have guessed that this is what I would learn when I went to 'check on Amity.' My girlfriend being a werecat was the first surprise.. but this? I thought emperor Belos was already huge threat, and now.. now Amity's mother too!

Mr. Blight continued to explain, "But now she knows, and she's not hesitant to get the curse removed. She.. she already left to do so. And once she's cured, there's no telling how much more powerful she'll be."

"Wh—well, she wouldn't do anything bad though right..?" I looked at Mr. Blight.

At first, no one responded.

"No no no no no."

I turned around to see Amity on the floor holding her heard.

"Amity—" Em pushed past me.
