Not many people side with Eggman, and when they do, it's always for selfish gain. I'm just the same. He's the greatest scientist, mechanic, and inventor on the face of the planet. Why wouldn't I want to study under him? I can still remember the look on his face after I appeared at the entrance of his base, repaired Metal Sonic beside me. Eggman had left his sparking robot on the battlefield after a brutal loss at Sonic's hands. He probably thought his creation was nothing but worthless scrap, or maybe he planned to pick up Metal later. His reasonings are always beyond me.

The fact I'd been able to fully restore a robot of Metal Sonic's caliber impressed the doctor, so he took me under his wing as a repairman. I'd fix, repair, and restore all important robots and weaponry that needed tweaks and mending. After all, the fallout of a skirmish was always the same: complete and total defeat. Brutally so. Maybe it's because his opponents are mechanical; electrical devices don't exactly have emotions, and they can be easily reconstructed, so Sonic doesn't have to feel guilt for demolishing them, reducing them to scrap or otherwise obliterating them.

It's of no concern to me either way.

I'm currently hyper-focused on restoring Metal Sonic for the umpteenth time. I know his circuitry like the back of my hand at this point, easily screwing his main plate into place after fiddling with his memory chip, having just checked it for damage. I hadn't bothered browsing his personal logs, however. If Eggman wants to know what Metal thinks, he can look himself. I'll choose to respect the android's privacy. He may be a simple weapon of destruction, but he has just enough conscience to warrant common decency. At least, that's what I think. Not as if the doctor gives a flying fuck about that.

Patting Metal's cool shoulder pad, I boot him up. After a few beeps and whirs, his head cranks around 180 degrees to stare at me with crimson eyes. He buzzes at me, but I don't understand him, so I simply smile. His head quickly snaps back, and he slides off the workbench, probably to report to his master. I lead him out of the workshop, guiding him to the doctor.

I stare at the female in front of me. My scanners match her with the image of the individual (Y/n) (L/n) in my files, and a search through my logs informs me she is the one who repairs me. As we traverse the winding halls, I notice smaller details.

I mark this away in my personal logs as yet another unrequired assistance she has given me. She asks me several questions, such as if my joints are stiff, or if I detect any errors in my wiring. Beep for yes, buzz for no. All responses are buzzes after several bodily scans. She tells me to wait outside the room to allow her time to give her report to "Eggman". A search through my logs informs me the individual "Eggman" is the same individual as "Doctor Ivo Robotnik", my creator. I whir in reply. I did not used to respond, but she would always ask if I heard her until I made a noise. Another item recorded in my personal logs. After my acknowledgement, she types the passcode 3665 into the keypad steps inside the room as the doors slide open with a mechanical hiss. They close behind her.
