Chapter 23

"Luke, they are starting to suspect things.." Veronica said, her face in her hands.

"I think you need to relax." Luke says, rubbing his forehead.

"Luke this is serious!" Veronica yells, making everyone turn their attention to her. "They are all believing that you and I broke up, and you two are dating!" She said, pointing her finger from me to Luke. "Your management is going to be pissed! You guys have to stop dating."

Luke stood up, causing his chair to slide against the wood floor.

"If you think thats gonna happen, you're crazy."

Veronica was about to say something until Ashton walked over to him.

"Dude.." Ashton said, resting his hand on Lukes shoulder. "I think that is the only way to let these rumors die down."

Luke shrugged Ashtons arm off his shoulder and turned to face him.

"So I have to break up with someone I love!?"

Luke was fuming now and I knew I had to say something, I just didn't know what. I know the band comes before our relationship, but I never thought that there'd be a point where we would have to break up because of it.

"Chill." Calum said, putting his phone down. "Management will cut us off the label if we don't do what they want. They want you to date Veronica because it will help our records sell, but if you're seen with Andrea, not only will management be pissed, but you'll look like you're cheating on Veronica."

"He's right," Michael said, "You guys just need to take a break for a little bit so all of this can die down."

"Guys, Listen I th-"

"He's right." I say, interrupting Luke. "I think we do need to take a break.

"Andrea, what..?" Luke says, walking over to me and wrapping me in his arms. I gently push out of his grip and turn to look at Veronica.

"I understand where you're coming from. If Luke and I dating is causing this much trouble, it would be best if we took a break. I don't want the band suffering over something stupid"

"Andrea, stop!" Luke yelled, grabbing his hair in his fists. "We are NOT breaking up because of this! This is NOT 'something stupid' and I love you too much to let you go."

I wiped a tear away from my face quickly and kept talking. "Luke, your band is going to be in serious trouble all because of me and I will not let that happen."

"Andrea is right" Veronica said, "Luke and I fake dating only has to last until the end of this summer and you guys can go back to dating. But wait a few months so it doesn't look planned."

"But this is fucking planned!" Luke screamed. "This is stupid if I have to mess up my relationship all because of this band!"

"That's the price you have to pay.." Veronica said.

"I'm not doing it. I'm going to tweet right now that I'm really dating Andrea."

"Luke, stop!" I yelled, trying to grab his phone from his hands.

"If you tweet that, management will kick you out of the band." Veronica said.

"Management wouldn't go that far.." Michael said, looking at Veronica nervously.

"Sadly they would."

Luke put his phone down and looked around.

"What if I don't want to be in the band anymore?"

"Luke, stop talking like that." Calum said. "This will all be over in a few months."

"No, I'm being serious. Why is it that I have to have a fake girlfriend and not a real relationship but you guys can? Why can you guys do whatever you want but everything I do is in all the fucking magazines?! I'm done!"

"No. Stop acting like that. Like Calum said, this will only last a few months and then we can be together." I said, walking over to him.

"No Andrea, you don't understand. This will never end. I will always have to do what management says as long as I'm in this band and we will never be able to be together."

Luke wrapped his arms around me and kissed my forehead.

"I've made my decision." Luke said, "I'm quitting the band."
