Chapter Thirty Nine
Long chapter to make up for my laziness
●◦Troy◦●
I paced up and down the hospital holidays, anxiously waiting for any results. What if Adrianna never woke up? It was all my goddamn fault anyway. I was so selfish, and I’d let Adrianna take the shot. What sort of boyfriend...well ex....would do that? Well, obviously me.
I groaned, and smacked my head for the millionth time. You loser and selfish brat Troy! What on earth is wrong with you?
I messed up in the first place. I let my stupid brain take control over me and lose the most beautiful, stunning, funny, kind girl in the world. And she’s in a goddamn coma because of me. Just like her mother. What if she ended up like her Mum? What if she...No Kruger, don’t think like that. Think positive.
I sucked in a deep breath. Please wake up Adrianna!
The doors burst open, and Harmony strode through. I leapt over to her.
“Is everything alright?” I questioned, hoping for the best.
Harmony sent me a weak smile. “The doctors aren’t sure Troy. The gun shot hit her heart.’
My stomach dropped. Her heart? No, NO! It couldn’t be!
“HER HEART?” I yelled. ‘SHE COULD DIE!”
Harmony grabbed my shoulders. ‘Troy calm down-okay? It didn’t hit the middle of her heart, it only hit the very outside alright? Basically, the bullet’s tip barely touched the heart.”
‘But it still touched.” I whispered, sadly, feeling myself drop to the ground, sliding my back against a nearby wall.
Harmony sighed. ‘Look sweetie, the doctors are doing their best to revive her okay? The surgeon’s in, stuff like that. I know it’s hard on you, feeling your guilty and everything, but just hope for the best, and your wish will come true.’
I smiled, half-heartedly. ‘Thanks.”
Harmony bit her lip, and then smiled weakly, before pushing back through the doors.
All the family were crammed into that room. They asked me if I wanted to come with them (even though I could tell they didn’t really want me in there), but I refused.
I heard footsteps thump along the ground, and I didn’t bother to turn up.
‘Hey dude.”
It was that dude, Jules, or something. I lifted my head, sadly and nodded.
“Hey.”
His hair was combed neatly back with gel, and he had on a crisp tuxedo thing on. He had a lot of cologne on, and he was holding a box of chocolates (neatly wrapped with gold paper and a single hot pink ribbon), and a bouquet of roses.
Damn him. Why did he have to be so perfect? I bet Mr Hall and all of Adrianna’s brothers wished Adrianna was dating this Jules guy-rather than me. Well, now I’d stupidly gone and messed up, and Adrianna was no longer mine.
Jules sat down next to me, annoyingly.
‘Sorry for you loss mate,’ he told me.
I shrugged. ‘I broke up with her before that.”
This dude seemed really surprised. ‘Wait...what?”
I shrugged again. “Yeah.’
The dude scoffed, shaking his head. ‘Dude, you messed up big time.”
