Chapter Twelve
“C’mon, hurry up, hurry up,” whined my annoying brother, James.
I groaned. “Shut up. Seriously, I’m trying to go as fast as I can!”
I was driving as fast as I could! I mean seriously, why couldn’t James drive his own butt to the stupid mall? Oh yeah that’s right-he crashed his car.
I rolled my eyes, and finally slid into a parking spot. James practically leapt out of the car, and dashed off. I sighed. It would be a waste of petrol to not stay at the mall-so I just decided to just stay at the mall while James met with his friends.
I slowly got out of the car, and strolled into the mall.
I slid off my sunglasses, and got used to the air-conditioned air in the mall.
I started strolling around, aimlessly. Suddenly, I slammed right into a rock-hard muscular body.
I was about to fall-when two strong arms caught me by the waist, and pulled me to their chest.
I let out a little gasp, and glanced up to the face of my saviour.
And my heart literally stopped. It was Troy.
Once he realised it was me, he quickly let go of me. I stumbled away from him.
“Um...hi,’ he mumbled.
I chewed my lip. “Hey.”
‘What are you doing here, alone?’ asked Troy.
I raised an eyebrow. “Why are you surprised?”
Troy shrugged. “I don’t know. You seem like the type to always be with someone.”
“Well, I’m not alone,” I replied. “I’m here with my brother. But he’s with his friends.”
Troy nodded. “I’m with my annoying cousin. She’s shoe shopping.”
I smirked. “Wanna bail?”
Troy raised an eyebrow slowly, then smiled. “For once, a pretty smart idea. Let’s go.’
It felt so weird to be talking normally with Troy. I mean he was, well used to be my arch-nemesis. Now we were talking like...friends.
I chuckled. “Where do you want to go?”
Troy shrugged. “We’ll stroll around town. C’mon.’
He grabbed my wrist, and suddenly I felt sparks zoom through my body. What was that about?
“I...uh yeah,” I stammered, following him.
What was going on ith me? Suddenly I felt all nervous and jittery.
We burst out into the open, and I breathed in the fresh air. We walked in silence.
“So um...are we just going to walk around aimlessly?” I asked Troy.
He nodded. “I guess so.”
“Hey cutie, where are you headed?” a guy who we were passing by, hooted.
I bit my lip, as we turned to face him. Troy’s fists clenched quickly. What was with that? He was acting like a possessive boyfriend! And boy was that far from true.
“Um, somewhere,” I quickly said, dragging Troy away.
But the guy grabbed my waist and pulled me towards him, making me let go off Troy’s arm. I squealed with fright, and slammed into his chest.
