Chapter Four

I lowered my sunglasses, and saw that a mass of people were clumped around someone’s car. I went to investigate. I heard a loud, clear voice ring out. Oh. It was that conceited jerk, Troy.

I rolled my eyes, and swivelled on my heel to walk away. Uninterested.

Suddenly I felt a presence near me. I glanced up to see Troy standing there, smirking.

“Well, good mornin’ princess,’ he sneered.

I glared back. “Morning Conceited Jerk, how may I help you?”

He laughed. “You really think you’re funny-don’t you?”

I raised an eyebrow. ‘I try not to brag. Unlike SOME people.”

The crowd was now watching us, deathly silent. Great. I didn’t really like a lot of attention.

He narrowed his eyes. “So anyway geek, I heard from people that you slept around. A major sl*t huh?’

My jaw dropped open. “What did you just call me?”

He leant in closer, a giant smirk on his face. “You heard me...sl*t”

I stumbled back, into someone’s arms. It was Ethan. Tears started to fill up my eyes. Usually I was tough, but no one had EVER called me a sl*t before-or said I ‘slept around’.

I turned on my heel and raced away, tears spilling down my cheeks.

I turned back to see Ethan shoving Troy angrily, and Liam behind him, fists clenched and ready to kick Troy’s ass. James had already left for class.

I smiled, sadly through my tears. Sometimes, it was good to have 4 protective brothers. They kicked your enemies’ ass whenever you wanted them to.

I sighed, and hurried to class, my dislike for Troy turning into absolute hate.

“He freaking did not!” gushed Harmony, painting my nails a vibrant colour of lime green.

I shrugged. “Yeah...but...Ethan started shoving him around...so hopefully he learnt not to mess with me.’

Harmony smiled, dreamily. “That’s my Ethan.”

I laughed, and slapped her, playfully. “You lovesick puppy.”

Harmony’s perfectly-shaped eyebrows narrowed into an arc. “What did you just call me?”

“A lovesick puppy,” I repeated, innocently.

Harmony sighed. “I would attack you...but my nails need to dry. Hey, let’s go on a shopping spree!”

I groaned. “I don’t feel like one.’

Harmony waggled her eyebrows. “There might be cute guys there.”

I shook my head. “And you have a boyfriend. Shame on you.”

She grinned, and literally dragged me out of the house and into her car.

We Are Never Getting Back Together started playing. We both started singing along-Harmony’s voice sounding harmonious (horrible pun-I know), and my voice sounding horrible-but I sang on.

We are never, ever, ever, getting back together

We-e are never, ever, ever, getting back together

You go talk to your friends, talk to
