Chapter Forty One
♥ Adrianna ♥
I stared, confusedly after the guy with dark hair, supposedly named Troy. Um, I didn’t remember him...was I supposed to? Now I felt more confused than ever.
“Dad...who was he?” I whispered, afraid to make a sound in the tense and dead silent atmosphere.
Dad’s forehead crinkled. ‘You...you really don’t remember?”
I was starting to get all panicky now. Why was I supposed to remember him? Did he mean something to me or something? Argh, so many questions, yet so many answers that I didn’t know!“Uh...maybe its best you didn’t know,” Liam cleared his throat.
I raised an eyebrow. Sorry?
Suddenly, they all crowded in some huddle, and I immediately felt so left out. Huh, I guess this is what the Ugly Duckling felt like around his sisters and brothers!
Eventually, they came out, and all had serious expressions.
‘Um Ade, just uh, forget about that little ordeal,” Dad told me.
I chewed my lip. “Um...alright then.”
Harmony raced over to my bedside, all smiles. “OMG, I can’t believe you are actually awake! Ugh, I’ve waited so long!”
I chuckled. ‘Oh Harmony, forever the exaggerator.”
She raised an eyebrow. ‘Ade, I actually have waited a long time. We all have.”
I giggled. “More like two days!”
Everybody exchanged bewildered and baffled looks.
“Ade, you’ve been unconscious for four weeks,” James broke to me.
My eyes widened, and my jaw dropped wide open. “FOUR FREAKIN’ WEEKS? ARE YOU GODDAMN SERIOUS?”
Dad gave me an reprimanding look. “Adrianna, watch your language.”
I sulked. ‘DAD! I’ve just woken up, and you’ve already started scolding me.”
Everybody burst into laughter, and soon, the tense atmosphere had been replaced by a happy and cheerful one. I was chatting and laughing with everyone, and we were handing around chocolates to snack on (the doctors kindly allowed me to have a bit of chocolate. And boy, it was like HEAVEN! I hadn’t had chocolate in AGES!).
“Okay, okay, Adey, open the pressies and everything!” squealed Harmony, excitedly. ‘We’ve all been itching to see what’s inside of those gift bags and wrapping paper!”
I chuckled. “Okay, well pass me the first one!”
Noelle leant over, and randomly grabbed a tightly small present that was wrapped with Christmas paper. Hmmm, how appropriate. But I guess, what if the person had run out of wrapping paper, and all they had left was some old crappy Christmas wrapping paper?
I ripped off the wrapping paper and grinned. OMG, it was the new Taylor Swift perfume, Wonderstruck! I’d been wanting to get my hands on one for ages, but I hadn’t had enough money to buy one. Now, my dream had come true!
“Oooh, lucky,” gushed Audrey. ‘You have GOT to allow me to borrow that one day.”
I nodded. “Or maybe I should just hide it.”Audrey gasped. “You monster!”
I chuckled. “Next present!”
Soon, I was surrounded by giant boxes of chocolate, huge bouquets of flowers, jumbo-sized packets of candy, thousands of different cards, some soaps and perfumes, stationery, empty photo albums, photo frames etc.
