   "Hey, Beomgyu"

Beomgyu turned his face to the direction the familiar voice was coming from, seeing Jungho waving at him.

   "Come here"

Beomgyu always used to eat his lunch alone since he wasn't friends with anyone at college. He would sit and stare off into nothingness as he ate his meal, only to be disturbed by rude remarks and comments every now and then. However, now he was being invited by Jungho who was a new transfer student to the college. So far they had not spoken to each other but after Jungho decided to stand up for him that day, Beomgyu decided that they should get to know each other better, so he accepted Jungho's offer and went toward him with his lunch in his hands. It wouldn't be bad if he made at least one friend at college since no one else there would talk to him unless they wanted to insult him.

"How are you doing?", Jungho asked politely as Beomgyu arrived at his table at a nearby cafe, smiling slightly at Beomgyu's appearance.

"Good", Beomgyu replied as he sat down next to Jungho, "What about you?"

"Great! I just got a job as a secretary at a company so I have been working all day!", Jungho said excitedly with a smile on his face.

"Oh", Beomgyu replied softly and began eating his food, staring off into space again, "Congrats"

"Thank you",  Jungho said gratefully, "I don't really know what I want to do with my life yet but it might change soon"

Beomgyu nodded slowly, still staring at the ground before continuing eating his meal, not knowing exactly how to respond. Jungho didn't seem to mind though since he continued talking about himself, telling Beomgyu about his interests and hobbies in general. Eventually, Beomgyu spoke up to ask something he'd never thought of asking before.

"Why did you join this college? If you don't mind me asking..."

"Oh, right, well...", Jungho started awkwardly, "I've been obsessed with art since my childhood. My mother and father are artists so it came naturally to me. I've been studying under them ever since"

"Wow", Beomgyu said in amazement, "That's really cool!"

"Yeah, I guess so", Jungho answered with a chuckle, "They both teach contemporary arts at their private university"

"Cool", Beomgyu smiled, his heart filled with admiration, "Your parents must be proud of you"

Jungho chuckled again, looking away, "Actually, I wish they were"

"Why?", Beomgyu asked curiously, tilting his head to the side.

"Well, uh...," Jungho stammered, trying to find an excuse to avoid answering Beomgyu's question, "...It's complicated, but, anyway..."

Beomgyu noticed how awkward the situation became so he decided to change the subject, "I wanted to thank you for standing up for me that day", he said sheepishly, scratching the back of his neck nervously as he avoided Jungho's gaze.

"You're welcome", Jungho replied quickly, "Students here aren't fond of famous people, I see. They must be jealous of you"

Beomgyu let out a chuckle, "No, trust me, I'm nobody special, but thanks nevertheless"

They chatted like that for a while until they could finish their lunches and return to the building to attend their art classes. It took a couple more hours until the classes were over and Beomgyu headed back home, his mind buzzing with thoughts of how he wished that he could be someone important, someone that could inspire others to learn.
