Ellis Grey was known as the ruthless, cold-hearted, talented surgeon that she is. Aside from being that, she was also quite acknowledged for her past lovers, as they would call it. And if you say Ellis Grey would be one to settle down with a husband and a child, boy would you be right for all the wrong reasons.

Meredith Catherine Grey, daughter of THE Ellis Grey, was just as beautiful, smart and gifted as her mother. She would have many interns, nurses, and even attendings, accompany her in the waiting area while she sat with them while waiting for her mother to finish surgery. Anyone who would meet her would be amazed when she's there because all she does is play with her Anatomy Jane doll as if she was the surgeon on the case, and to think she was only 5 years old!

------------------

One day, Thatcher dropped Meredith at the hospital because he had a lecture in the university, so he couldn't bring her with him. Of course, Ellis protested saying she couldn't look after because she had surgery and that would always be more important, but in the end she gave in and told him to bring her to the cafeteria and she will send an intern to fetch her. Thatcher had second thoughts about leaving his daughter with a complete stranger, but then he had to settle because he was already running late. So he did as he was told and left Meredith with the intern.

So for days now Meredith has not been feeling her best. She's losing her appetite, yet has also been drinking a lot of water, a lot more than usual or normal, but Thatcher just shrugged it of saying it's just her being a picky eating toddler.

In the cafeteria, the intern in charge of Meredith has been asking her what she wanted to eat, but all she's been doing is asking for water, so the intern obviously just gave her bottle after bottle.

7 bottles later, Meredith nudged the intern and said, "May I go to the bathroom?". The intern just smiled, thinking she already saw this coming. "Alright come on," she said reaching her hand to Meredith.

After about 5 minutes in the bathroom meredith came out holding her belly. "What's wrong sweetie?" the intern asked concerned, "My tummy doesn't feel right" Meredith complained as she kept rubbing her belly. The intern just thought it just be because she hasn't eaten yet so she propped her up in her arms and brought her back to the cafeteria.

The intern was walking back from buying a bowl of pasta when she saw Meredith vomiting on the floor, so she immediately dropped the pasta and went over to her. "Meredith!" she exclaimed. She quickly got a peanut bag from another table and made meredith barf into it. Once she'd finally stopped, the intern brought her to the bathroom to get her cleaned up, and when she already was, she paged Dr. Grey, realizing she should've done that sooner, now she might have her beheaded for not paging her right away.

--------IN THE OR-------

"Dr. Grey, you are being paged, it's about your daughter." the nurse read as Ellis was still operating. "if that lousy intern is already complaining then she shouldn't be in this program at all." Ellis said annoyed she was taken off her focus. "but Dr. Grey, it's says here she threw up on the cafeteria floor." nurse tried talking again. "oh please, she's 5, they throw up all the time" She states, starting to be enraged at the nurse who's distracting her. "but Dr. Grey-" and with a threatening glare, Ellis turned back to the nurse and said. "Fine, if you want to handle a vomiting child, you can leave my OR, because I do not care for people who distract me while I work on saving a life." Ellis snapped making the whole room shut quiet.

----BACK AT THE CAFETERIA----

"Come on hun, you have to eat" the intern says as she hands out a spoon full of pasta to the toddler, who right now is so restless and still complaining of stomach pains.

Richard Webber was just walking in the cafeteria when he saw the small commotion that was happening between Meredith and the intern. "What seems to be the problem here?" he asked as he approached the two. "She wouldn't eat anything and has only been asking for water so now she's been complaining of stomach pains for about a half an hour already. I've paged Dr. Grey but she's in surgery and I don't know she's now acting restless and I don't know if-" the intern rambled on as she getting a bit annoyed herself, but was cut short by Richard. "How long has she been here for?". "for about 2 hours now" she says still trying to feed the child in front of her. "well why don't you take a break for now, I'll take her of your hands." Richard offer and in a split second, she replied "Really? Oh my God, thank you Dr. Webber." And with that she sped off leaving Richard speechless and with a restless, crying child to deal with.

2 more hours had passed and nothing has changed, Ellis was still in surgery, Meredith was still not eating and complaining of stomach pains, and Richard was still there thinking of ways on how to make her eat. Though Richard had noticed her complexion had changed evidently since her first saw her. So he reached over to hold her little hands and that is where he felt they were ice cold and meredith was starting lose consciousness from the pain and all the crying, and that's when Richard quickly yelled, "GET ME A GURNEY IN HERE NOW! AND PAGE DR. GREY!"
