"GET ME A GURNEY IN HERE NOW! AND PAGE DR. GREY!".

And with that, the all the cafeteria personal ran frantic as Richard examined, the now unconscious child before him. He got her on a gurney, and headed to an exam room.

---------------------IN THE OR--------------------

"Dr. Grey you are being paged to exam room 2 by Dr. Webber" the nurse says as she read the page. "Is it emergent?" Ellis asked as she was just closing up her patient. "It's a 911 for your daughter Meredith Grey."

---------BACK IN THE EXAM ROOM--------

Richard continued to exam her and eventually had to call an attending peds surgeon.

"What have we got?" Dr. Knox, the peds surgeon asked as he entered the exam room. "Abdomen is rigid, temperature is up to 102, with severe dehydration, unconscious the last 15 minutes." Richard tells him as he just nods while reading the chart.

After administering the needed meds, Dr. Knox ordered some tests for the little girl in order to rule out anything serious.

"Does she have a name? It wasn't listed in the chart here" The doctor asked. "oh I must have forgotten to put it down. Uhm- Meredith Grey" Richard says as he gets the needed blood samples from Meredith. "Mer-edith--Wait-Meredith? Meredith Grey? as in Grey's Daughter?" Dr. Knox repeated as he jots it down on the chart. "Uhm yes sir" Richard replied. "Then why isn't she down here" He asked wondering were the little girl's parents are. Richard just looks at him as he was wondering the same thing.

"Tell me Webber when a pediatric patient presents symptoms such as, Abdomen Rigidity, Dehydration, Loss of appetite, extreme thirst, Abdominal pain, anemia, and fatigue, what does that indicate?" As Richard was just about to answer, a familiar voice came in saying, "The indicated symptoms, if consistent, could suggest Multiple myeloma otherwise known as Bone Marrow Cancer." both doctors were stunned to see Ellis Grey standing in the doorway.

"Ellis-" Richard was just about to approach her when he was cut off. "Give it to me Straight Dr. Knox, tell me what is wrong with my daughter, and don't even think to try and sugar coat it." Ellis looked at her daughter laying on the bed coldly.

"Well Dr. Grey, we would need to run some tests, but yes, Meredith's symptoms are consistent with Multiple myeloma, and I think you should be ready with the boatloads of treatments your daughter would be experiencing. And I might also suggest to contact her father before the test results are in to further discuss this with the two of you" Dr. Knox explained as he kept checking her latest stats.

"Her father, right, I'll give him a call and uhm- I'll see if we can put a rush on those tests." Ellis grabs her phone and dials Thatcher and soon enough, he got there just in time to hear Dr. Knox and the results.

"So I have the results, and I regret to inform you that our suspicions were right. You're daughter has Multiple myeloma and it seems to have progressed rapidly, meaning she should have a stem cell transplant right away before this progresses any further." As he explains this, Thatcher was just trying to wrap his head around the fact that his five-year-old daughter had cancer, while Ellis was just looking at Meredith so coldly.

"We have the choice putting her on the transplant list and wait for UNOS or we can have both of you tested for a match"

Dr. Knox handed them the forms as they agreed on having them tested and to see whether or not they can save their child.

------------------------

Dr. Knox came back with the results. Meredith was officially admitted about an hour ago, and since then Ellis has just been looking at her coldly from the couch while Thatcher kept pacing back and forth waiting

"Well Mr and Dr. Grey, I have the test results back, and it seems as though none of you are a match, which is quite unusual because in almost all cases, at least one of the child's parents should match, which unfortunately isn't the case now"

"What do you mean doc? Neither of us are eligible to help our daughter" Thatcher questions all frantic and sweaty as he faced Dr. Knox.

While Thatcher had his feelings, Ellis was still looking coldly at Meredith. "Ellis did you hear him? " Thatcher looked at his cold wife.

"Dr. Grey, we still have the option of putting her on the transplant but as you know, those take weeks, if not months to find a suitable match, and in Meredith's case her cell type seems to be so rare. Which is why I can't understand why none of you are a match" Dr. Knox looked at Ellis and almost frustrated at the situation.

"It is impossible for both Thatcher and I to be a match" Ellis finally spoke. "Well Dr. Grey as you well know stem cell transplant on kids can usually be-" He cut off by Ellis as she butted in louder.

"IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR BOTH THATCHER AND I TO BE A MATCH BECAUSE THATCHER IS NOT HER FATHER"
