"IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR BOTH THATCHER AND I TO BE A MATCH BECAUSE THATCHER IS NOT THE FATHER!"

---------FLASH BACK TO 5 YRS AGO-------

"Marie! What are you doing? We just finished Med School! We should be out celebrating!" Ellis swing in the dorm with tequila bottle on hand, greeting her roommate and best friend, Marie Cerone.

"Ellis come on we did the celebrating 2 months ago. Besides we start our internship in 2 weeks shouldn't you be packing already?" Marie nagged.

"Ugh, don't be such a mom, you and I both know that we are the best and we would definitely level any competition that may come our way."
Ellis said taking another sip from the bottle.

"Ok, you are definitely drunk and it is only 9 p.m. Ellis we don't get drunk this early in the night and only in our PJs" She pointed out, giggling at how quick she was get drunk.

"Who cares? Fine whatever you say, let's get dressed, let's go to a bar because like you said it's only 9 p.m." Ellis slurred through the sentence and eventually with so much more convincing, Marie agreed and they both got dressed and went to the bar down the street.

They did what any non sober people do at bars. They drink, dance, drink, flirt, drink, eat, and if that wasn't enough they'd drink even more.

The two weren't exactly party girls despite what they've been displaying the whole night. They were actually quite the opposite. But tonight they decided to throw caution to the wind and thought what's the worst that could happen?

Drunk would be an understatement, to what they felt that night. As the bar cleared, they eventually were ready go home.

Marie's phone rang so she had to answer it at the back of the bar and left Ellis there on her stool.

"So what's a pretty girl like you doing here at the bar alone?"

Ellis looked up to see who it was and saw 'The Captain' atleast that's what they call him. He owned the penthouse just above the bar and conveniently is also student professor at the University were she had just finished med school at.

"Shouldn't you be with your wife Dr. Montgomery?" Ellis says loopily, while looking at his wedding ring.

"who's to say she's still my wife?" he smirks

And just as quickly as she gets drunk, that's how quick it was for the Captain to take Ellis and eventually nine months later came Meredith Catherine Grey.

Ever since that night, she hasn't seen or heard from him, and just a week after that, she met Thatcher and that's when she told him he was the father of her unborn child, and NO ONE knew the truth, not even Marie, NO ONE.

That is, until present day..

-------------END OF FLASHBACK-------------

"So you're meaning to tell me that for the past five years I've been caring for a child that's not even mine?" Thatcher yelled aggravated.

"Well yes Thatcher, that would what 'You are not the father' would mean" Ellis replies looking at him coldly.

Dr. Knox, just stood there just as confused and baffled as the people involved but eventually spoke up.

"Well I don't mean to interrupt, but we need to contact the father immediately because based on her recent stat, Meredith is losing precious time by the minute. So I would suggest to setting aside your issues for the moment and come up with a decision quickly." Dr. Knox suggests before heading out and treat his other patients.

"You need to call him" Thatcher simply states to his now sweating wife. "I think I should too." and with that, she went to a pay phone down at the lobby and went to call him.

It wasn't hard to find his number, he was in fact a known surgeon across the country and with the many connections Ellis has it wasn't hard to get his office number.

"Hi, Dr. Montgomery's office, how may I help you today?" 'God, too perky-No Ellis stop, you're on a clock' Ellis thought to herself, as what she thinks is her secretary answers the phone.

"Yes, uhm- This is Dr. Ellis Grey, surgical resident at Seattle Grace Memorial Hospital, and I was wondering if I could speak to Dr. Montgomery? Or at least have his personal number?"

"THE Dr. Grey? OH MY GOD" (a/n: Ellis had already won her Harper Avery at this time) the woman on the phone started screeching. 'Just Great' Ellis scoffs.

"As flattering as this is my dear, I'm kind of on the clock here so if you could just-" Ellis says the friendliest most she could make at the time being. "Right sorry, uhm- Dr. Montgomery won't be in until later this afternoon, but if you'd like I'd be happy to give you his home number."

Ellis got the number and quickly called and fortunately, 'the Captain' was the one to answer.

"Hello?" the phone spoke, and for the first time since Meredith was diagnosed Ellis froze.

"Hello?" it spoke again.

Ellis quickly snapped back and answered the phone. "Hi Dr. Montgomery, this is Dr. Grey-"

"ah yes, I was informed you would call, what can I do for you today?" He spoke through the phone happily.

"Ihavea5yearolddaughterwhoisdyingandneedshelpandIcan'thelpherbutmaybeyoucanbeforeitstoolateanddidImentionsheisyours?You'llarrivetomorrow? Great. Thank you." Ellis blurted out in one breath, ended the call, and now she can only hope he got that and will hop on that plan in time.

It's a possibility right? RIGHT?
