bricks and clocks

exhaustion building
brick by brick
all dust and cement
brain going tick

stretching, tearing
digging in the head
something shrieking
rest sunk in bed

something so heavy
burdened, cumbered
unraveling crimson string
time only numbered

clock on the wall
seconds tapping by
ready ringing wail
stabbing like to die

precipice reaching
gripping, knuckles white
clawing stationary there
through hair at this height

breath catching over
again, again, again
leaks not stopping
brain crazed then

swirling scribbles
jagged, erratic now
piercing all around
at least alone, somehow
