Gratefulness and warmth bloomed inside of me as I took a bite of the brown bread. The feelings of being loved and treasured... However the warmth didn't last long, as one phone call ended it all.

"Oh, who could that be?" Lucas asked himself as the his telephone rang, his mouth full of food. He stood up and answered the call, swallowing his mouthful of chicken. "Hello? Who is this?" I stared at Lucas, tense. Who was calling Lucas?

"Pretty big sister, eat." The stiff tension around me was interrupted by Emily, who passed me the bowl of soup. She grinned at me, showing all her teeth. I chuckled. Emily was such a cute girl. But my smile faded as soon as I heard Lucas' words:

"Hello?" he said again into the phone. "Who is this? Harry?! Oh my gosh, Harry, my old friend! Why are you calling all of the sudden?"

What?!

I gasped, my blood running cold.

"What?! What are you saying?! The empress escaped? She's been found?! When?! Oh, okay. Mhm..."

Emily and Lizzie looked up from their plates, confused.

"No, why would Julia The Empress be at my house?" Lucas continued, his expression containing shock. He glanced over and locked eyes with Beth.

I clenched my dress tightly under the table, holding my breath. Oh no. Not now...

"Guests? No, I have no guest-" Lucas suddenly paused when he laid eyes on me. "Actually, we do have a guest. Her name is Ariel. Her appearance? Why are you asking me what she looks like?" His eyes narrowed. "Pale skin, heart-shaped face, small brown eyes and long wavy pink hair."

He listened, pressing the phone to his ear. Then he gasped, stumbling backwards into a bookself.

"What's wrong, dear?" Beth asked, her face filled with concern.

"Beth, dear," Lucas said, his face filled with shock. "Harry says t-that..." Lucas lifted a finger and pointed at me. "He is saying that this girl who claims to be Ariel, is Julia. Julia the empress."

I froze. I'm doomed. I'm so doomed.

I need to get out of here. I should have never agreed to stay.

"What?!" Beth exclaimed and turned to me, trembling. "Is this true, Ariel? Or Julia, whatever you name is?"

My heart was beating so fast I could hear it. "I-I u-uh-" I began, but was interrupted by Lucas.

"Harry informed us saying that he and his knights are on their way here. To take this traitor away." Lucas stared at me in anger.

"WHAT?!" I jumped up from my seat. They are coming for me. I have to leave this place. Now!

"What's wrong, mommy?" Emily asked. Lizzie hid behind her sister, whimpering in fear.

I guess all the shouting scared the children.

"Uhh, thanks for the food. I'll be on my way now." Just as I turned to flee, Lucas stepped forward and grabbed my wrist, yanking me back. "Your not going anywhere anytime soon," he hissed with gritted teeth, his grip on my arms tight.

"Release me now!" I squirmed around in his arms.

"Stop moving or I'll twist your arm," Lucas threatened. Lucas no longer looked friendly. Even Beth looked scary.

What should I do? My eyes flickered to Beth as she rose from her seat. She stared at me, and so did the children. Then I heard the sound of the door getting kicked open. Hurried footsteps as they rushed in, holding daggers in front of them. How did they arrive so fast?

Beth gasped at the sight of daggers and Lizzie started crying.

"Chill, dude," Lucas grumbled, his eyes on Harry, "you didn't need to destroy my door."

Using the fact that he was speaking to Harry and getting distracted, I broke free from his grip.  Lucas' widened, stunned. Without waiting for another second, I turned on my heels and ran out of the door.

The knights and Harry chased after me.

"Hey, stop!"

The town was dark and deserted, unlike in the afternoon. I glanced over my shoulder and took in the image of thirty knights chasing after me, holding daggers. Harry was in the lead, shouting my name.

I ignored all their cries and yells. But suddenly, I tripped onto a rock and fell onto the ground, skimming my knees. I cursed under my breath. Why did I have to fall now?

I could hear the knights behind me. They were coming! I quickly attempted to push myself back up, but a sudden pain shooting up my ankle caused me to collapse back onto the ground.

They were coming. There were coming!

Suddenly, a sudden pain shot up my ankle.

What?!

I tried to push myself up, but my legs refused to stand. I tumbled to the ground again.

I had twisted my ankle........

Why now?!

I'm doomed.

I'm going to get caught and punished by Cedric. Maybe even killed.

I lay helplessly on the ground, trying to push myself up as I watched the knights neared me ever passing second.
