I woke up in the dark. A small amount of moonlight leaked through the grass windows. I instantly turned to look at Joe, who thankfully was fast asleep. I smiled. I knew he couldn't stay up for the whole night.

Now, it's time to start my plan. I crept out of bed, careful not to make even the smallest sound. The bed creaked when I moved and I froze at the sound.

I tiptoed past Joe and stopped when I reached a drawer. I grabbed a candlestick from the drawer and I lit it up, holding it out in front of me as I continued towards the doorway.

I slipped into the hallway, the candlestick providing light for me. I walked quietly but quickly towards Cedric's office. But the feeling of someone following me returned...

The grip on my candlestick became tighter and my breath became shallow. However I choose to ignore the feeling. I had to focus.

After a few turns around the corridor, I finally arrived at Cedric's office.

His office's door was closed, perhaps locked. Theo's bedroom was, too. As I started tip-toeing past his office, I began wondering what he was doing inside.

Was he sleeping? Working? Reading?

I knew it would be really risky if I took a peek inside, but curiosity grew the best of me and I crept towards the office door. What was I doing?! Amanda! Stop! My brain was screaming at me.

I slowly gripped the handle, my hands beginning to sweat. I was sure that Cedric had to be asleep. Maybe he would look cute when asleep. However when I peeked in, I was shocked to see candles lit up in Cedric's office and him doing paperwork by his desk.

My jaw dropped. My heart began beating with panic but I was too stunned to move.

"Mmmm," said Cedric sleepily, making me flinch. My hands shook but I did not drop my candle, but I did bump into the door.

Creakkkkk.

"....!" Realizing what I had done, I grabbed the handle of the door and pulled it shut. However I accidently ended up slamming the door. I could feel the vibration.

"Huh?!" Cedric roared, causing me to flinch. I heard loud footsteps coming from his office. Oh gosh. What had I done?

Without thinking, I scurried down the hall, throwing Theo and my problems at the back of my mind. The candle flickered and blew out as I ran. I turned around the corridor and hid behind the wall, panting and out of breath.

I collapsed onto the floor to catch my breath.

After a few minutes of sitting there, panting, I brushed myself up and held the blown out candlestick in front of me again. Ugh. What had I done? I was so close to finding Theo and I ruined my chance....

Now what? I can't go back to Cedric's office!

I dragged my feet down the hall, towards Julia's chamber. Suddenly, I lifted my head. Where was Julia's chamber?

I looked to the right, and then the left. Everything looks the same! I think I might be lost.

Ugh!

Crunch crunch. Bam bam!  The sounds of pans hitting the floor and chewing noises came from my left.

What?

I hurried in the direction of the noise and came in sight with... the kitchen.

The kitchen door was closed shut but I was sure that the noises were coming from inside. I pressed my ear on the door and-

The sound of tearing of wrappers, cooking pans and pots crashing onto the floor and plates smashing could all be heard. Gosh! Who could be messing around in the kitchen so late at night? A maid? A guard?

Theo.

His name made my heart beat faster... but in a good way. My cheeks heated and I felt a little shy. Hey, what's going on?

I inhaled... and exhaled. Slowly, I grasped the door handle, sucked in a sharp breath and pulled it open...

A guy in shiny orange hair was leaning against the counter, a lock of his bangs covering one his eyes crystal blue eyes. He glanced over at me, one of his hands dipped in chocolate and the other grasping a chunk of bread. He looked just like the Theo from my dream.

But hotter.

My heart stopped by just looking at him.

We stared at each other and for some reason I felt... excited to see him. A blush crept to my cheeks.

"Amanda..." Theo dropped the bread onto the floor, pushing himself away from the counter. His eyes didn't leave me, not even once. He stepped forwards me, holding out his hand. "Amanda... is that you?"

WHAT?!
