No More Hiding

Thank the gods for Jason.

The explosion in the Senate building sent everyone in a panic. A large piece of the exterior wall began falling from the side of the building. Before it could crush more then half of the campers, senators and citizens standing helplessly below, a bolt of lightning shattered it in a million pieces.

Even with Jason's quick thinking, the pieces of rubble pelted the innocent bystanders, causing everyone to run in different directions.

In spite of the chaos, the centurions of each of the cohorts, including Gwen, shouted in unison. "LEGION! SHIELDS!."

The legionnaires responded to the voices of their superiors. Shield bearing campers formed a circle on Gwen's position, holding them up to block the debris. Legionnaires who didn't have shields guided innocent bystanders underneath the shields for safety, enduring the rubble pelting their armor.

In the chaos, I turned towards Justice and saw her making a run for it.

"HEY!" I shouted. "DON'T LET HER GET AWAY."

I raced after her, ignoring the pain in my left leg. Dodging rubble, bystanders and Legionnaires as I pursued. I saw Sam to my left shout to Jason behind me. "Jason! There are people in there, get them out. NOW!"

Somewhere to my right, John shouted. "GWEN. MAX. Protect the bystanders. Follow when they are safe!"

I leaped over Lycaon, who's neck was being chewed on by John's silver dog, Argentum. John and Sam ran on either side of me, no longer dressed in their purple togas, now I'm full armor. The three of us pursuing Justice. Closing in on either side of us, six of Justice's supporters tried to stop us.

Out of nowhere, Scipio crashed into the three on the right. She circled back and crashed into the ones on the left.

"THATS MY GIRL!" Shouted Sam. "Help the others!"

Scipio neighed in acknowledgment and flew back to the senate building.

Justice raced towards the shore line, where the Tiber river emptied into the sea. We followed close behind her. The best way I could describe how fast we were going was to describe a movie Gwen showed us one time. You ever see that movie where a guy call Captain America races after Black Panther through the streets and they are running faster then the cars driving by? That's about how fast a demigod can run when super motivated.

Within no time, I could smell the salty air of the sea. John huffed next to me. "Where is she going, there is....."

As if on cue, what was once empty space started to refract moon light in a unusual ways. A massive cruise appeared out of no where. I could make out the silhouette of a women just below the hull of the cruise. I gulped, hoping it was just a statue. The ship glowed hauntingly in the moon light. Right at the shoreline, beneath the ship, stood a familiar figure hidden under a black cloak. His bronze and steel sword was raised above his head, as though.....

I spread my arms to stop Sam and John. "It's a trap!" The three of us slid to a stop.

"Your dam right it is." A voice said to our right.

Terminus, god of boundaries, resting on his pedestal, surveyed the situation ahead of us. Terminus always gave me the creeps. He was the first and only god I've met up to this point, even if he was only a minor god.

And he was a statue with no arms or legs, which made me wonder if he was always like that or his real body was somewhere else.

John interrogated Terminus between large gasp of air. "Why didn't you.... Inform us...... of intruders."
