We would be dead if not for Jason.

The birds swooped down towards us, each of them screeching loudly. As the mass of birds approached, Jason pushed my hand from his mouth and thrust both of his hands outwards. Just before the birds crashed into us, they departed around us. Jason protected us with his own dome of air. The birds circled around the barrier, which snuffed out the morning light leaving s in complete darkness. They had blood red eyes and beaks that seemed to be made from bronze. The birds desperately searched around his dome for an opening. One managed to break in behind us. I grabbed my sword and sliced it to dust.

"There getting inside!"

"You try holding back hundreds of birds with just some air!"

I didn't think Jason had it in him to be angry, his tone surprised me. I was even more surprised by the sparks of electricity that shot out from all over his body. The lightning turned some of the birds to dust outside of the dome.

"Do that again!"

Jason's look of anger turned to panic. "No no no no. Get away from me!"

Jason body started to spark uncontrollably. One by one birds started to fall. Some of the birds seemed to catch on and dispersed in the trees above. A bolt hit the tip of my sword and forced me to drop it.

"Get away Reyna! Get away!" Jason dropped his hands and the dome of air followed suit. The birds who did not seek refuge in the trees swarmed towards Jason.

"No!" I rushed forward, picking up my sword. "You can control it!"

Time slowed down. I felt my chest tighten as I lent Jason my strength. His eyes glowed blue and were now outlined with purple. His eyes widened with shock and fear. He turned towards me and thrust his hands, his body crackling with lightning. A gust of wind sent me flying. As I flew in the air, I saw the swarm about to engulf Jason. Until-

BOOM

***********

"It's this way. I know it."

A young boy with long blonde hair ran through a forest under the full moon. Snow fell from the sky. Alongside him were three wolves. One of the wolves bared a nasty scar on one side of its face. The wolf nipped at the boys feet.

"What?" The boy turned to the wolves. The wolves were panting loudly and walking in circles. "Oh, right. Lets rest. I'll take first watch."

The other two wolves collapsed on the ground and fell asleep immediately. The wolf with the scar walked over to the young boy. The boy sat down on a rock, gazing at the moon above. The wolf rested its head on his lap.

"Hey Mack. I said I would get first watch." The wolf licked the boys face and he laughed. "Don't thank me. Lupa will regret ever doubting you. Now go get some rest." Mack proceeded to lick the boy, which made him giggle uncontrollably. As they enjoyed each others company, the boy whistled. The wolf seemed to enjoy this and wagged its tail. Eventually the wolf fell asleep at his feet.

The scene shifted to the young boy on top of a tree branch. He had coated the branch with mud and was building a small fire pit on the tree. "Okay here goes nothing."

He stuck his finger in the small pile of wood and there was a loud pop. The wood smoked, but didn't light. "It worked last time. Come on its cold."

The boy jammed his finger in the woods and tried again, but nothing happened. "Come on! Work!"

Multiple sparks of lightning shot from his body. The bolts struck trees all around him, setting them ablaze. Including the one the boy rested on. He yelled out in panic. The wolves on the ground below shot to there feet. Two of them ran away from the flames, while Mack cried out to the boy.
