Yeah I lied.

One chapter is about all I could muster. I really tried, but it wasn't going to work out. Getting this chapter out was hard enough, but enough excuses. The schedule will return to normal after this week. Expect new chapter(s) every Friday. Our heroes story nears its end, so if you haven't saved it in your reading list or followed me, you should really consider. Leave a vote if you enjoyed or tear it apart in the comments.

Until next time. -PB

"On the road-"

"I swear to all the gods Johnny! If you keep singing that song I'm killing us all!" I shouted at him.

The trip to Glen Ellen, if you couldn't tell, was extremely stressful. Either Johnny was singing way too much or there was some type of monster attack or my brain kept reminding me how much of an idiot I am. With all of the monsters attacks, a ride that should have taken a hour at most, doubled. Maybe even tripled. I couldn't tell, the digital clock in Johnny's van was broken.

"Are we there yet," Gwen asked from the front passenger seat. She had been uncharacteristically quiet the whole ride here. I was starting to get worried about her. She stared blankly outside of the window, watching the green plains speed past us.

Johnny glanced nervously at the side mirrors. "Well, if another flock of griffins doesn't attack us, about ten minutes."

Gwen sighed. "So, what exactly are we going to do once we get there?"

I looked between the two of them, but they didn't seem to know what to say. I tapped Johnny's arm. "Your the veteran here. What should we do?"

Johnny sighed himself, wiping sweat from his brow. "I'll be honest, kid. I wasn't much of a tactical genius. Especially if I have no idea what I'm facing. And if your theory is true and it's HER we're going to face, well, I'm not sure why were evening bothering."

I crossed my arms. I guess I'll have to be the one to figure this out. "Alright... anybody know the lay out of Glen Ellen?"

Gwen shook her head, remaining silent. Johnny scratched his bald head. "Glen Ellen I don't remember much about, but I can tell you about the wolf house."

I sat forward. "The wolf house? Isn't that the place where demigods go before coming to New Rome?"

"So you were paying attention." Gwen remarked. I looked at her, but her face was still expressionless.

Johnny nodded. "Yeah, at least, back in the day. The last..... what? Eight or nine years, no kids were coming from the wolf house. I remember going on a couple of missions to see what was happening there, but Lupa wasn't there. We figured she abandoned her post."

"No, she was raising Jason." I said. I had to retrain myself from pulling out the coin from my pocket.

Johnny looked unconvinced. "What? Lupa's never taken a demigod for more then a few months. Maybe a year at most. Why would she spend so much time raising him?"

This is where Gwen and I switched roles for a second. I shut up, while she opened her big mouth. "Because he's the son of Jupiter."

I kicked the back of her seat. "Idiot! Nobody is suppose know!"

Johnny chuckled. "Relax, kid. I already know that."

My anger quickly morphed into shock. "Really? How?"

Johnny chuckled. "What? You thought I got knocked out when that venti decided to pay a visit at my hotel? Sure I was dazed, but it takes a lot to damage this thick skull."
