"HAHA. SUCK IT! GIVE ME ALL THE TICKETS!" Gwen shouted at the top of her lungs.
After my little breakdown, we decided to take a little breather from our adventures, which had barely started mind you. Gwen had suggested we visit a Chuck E Cheese nearby. Jason and I had never heard of that before, which made Jason feel good for some reason. Gwen did that finger snap too convince the worker at the entrance we had already paid. Why Circe didn't at least teach me that trick, I will never know. When we arrived in the..... party...... restaurant..... arcade...... place. Well I wasn't as ecstatic as Jason and Gwen. The place smelled like cheap pizza and sweat. The colorful carpet had multiple tickets and popcorn kernels on the floor. And lots and lots and lots and lots of kids. I was over this place the second I walked in.
While I made multiple attempts to convince the others too leave, they told me to stop being a buzz kill and ran off to play a bunch of other games. So I sat down in a empty booth, sipping a soda. I watched Jason and Gwen run off, playing a bunch of games. They were the older then any kid here, making them stick out. Gwen especially, watching her take turns on the wack-a-mole machine with a five year old was comical. But they seemed to be having fun. What a waste a waste of time.
While I watched them, a worker walked up to me. He did his best to hide the number of pimples beneath his cap. His curly red hair was barely contained by said cap and he had an angry look in his eyes. A........... familiar look.
"I do not believe you paid to dine in this fine establishment." The guy said. He had a raspy voice of a smoker, which was odd since he looked around Gwen's age. Couldn't be older any then sixteen.
I raised an eyebrow. "Fine establishment? A kid took a dump underneath a table. This place is one step away from being a dumpster."
The guy made a low growl noise, which was cause for alarm. I reached into my pocket, gripping the golden coin. Before the werido could do anything, another one of the workers called him over from afar. "HEY. Er, Bob, a child has dropped a large piece of stool beneath a table. Assist me in cleaning it up."
Crazy Bob over here looked beyond mad that his coworker interrupted him, but he relented and walked off towards his friend. I made a mad dash towards the arcade section, where I collided with Gwen.
"Ow! Watch where your going!" She yelled.
I gripped Gwen's arm. "We need to find Jason, now."
Gwen swiped my hand away. "You go find him yourself, can't you see I'm five thousand tickets away from winning that giant taco dog."
I glanced at the three massive bags of tickets she had been carrying that had fallen on the floor. "It's just a stupid taco dog. You plan on dragging that all the way to Glen Ellen?"
Gwen rolled her eyes and picked up her bags. "How about you just shut up and enjoy yourself. Your what? Thirteen. Your a KID Reyna, not some super solider."
Gwen stomped off towards another game, leaving me dumbstruck in the arcade. I glanced towards the workers that were cleaning the poop under the table and sure enough...... they still were. The mean guy kept glancing back at me, but he didn't do anything. Maybe I was overreacting, I'm not sure. Maybe I should just relax.
No. I did not make it this far because I was so naive. I knew what the real world look like. I rushed off to find Jason. He would understand. I searched through the arcade, dodging the annoying kids and peaking into arcade machines. He was no where to be found. I looked up at the tubes that ran across the ceiling for the kids to crawl through. i doubt Jason would go into one of those, he was far........
Yeah he was in one. I could see his face in one of the windows, he seemed to be talking to someone. I grunted angrily and rushed over to the play pen. I yelled in to the tube that Jason crawled into. The inside smelt like sweat and farts. "JASON! GET OUT OF THERE!"
