For the first time in forever I had not one dream. No nightmares. I slept peacefully. The experience was so jarring that I thought I had died. I felt myself floating in the air peacefully, being guided to a safer place. I soon realized I wasn't floating and was instead being carried by someone. I cracked opened my eyes slowly and saw Jason. His hair was down and he held his head high, like he usually did. I noticed rows of lights on a blank white ceiling. I wanted to move, but then I heard a familiar voice.

"Alright, this is it."

I recognized the voice being that stranger in the porta potty. I believe his name was Sam. I heard a soft beeping noise and then a loud click. Sam opened a door and beckoned Jason in. I shut my eyes again, pretending I was still asleep. I felt Jason place me on a soft surface. A super soft, cozy bed.

"This is where you two will be staying for the night." Sam said. I heard him walk over to my bed. "You think she'll be alright? How did this even happen anyways?"

"Uh she Uh gets really tired after fights. Last time this happened she was out for a few days." Jason responded. He gently grabbed my legs to make space for him to sit. "Yo- you sure you don't want us to go with you?"

"Yeeeeeaah," he obviously did not buy Jason's explanation, but he rolled with it. "We guard and patrol the entrance to New Rome, but that doesn't change the fact that monsters still wait outside the entrance for a potential snack. I can't guarantee that I could protect you and her while she is still unconscious. Its best to wait for her to wake up."

I was tempted to wake up then and there, but I stopped myself. I did not trust Sam. Something about him bothered me. I laid there and listened.

"Well alright then. Thanks for your help." Jason said.

"Nah. Its no biggie. You two are not the first demigods I have helped. Definitely won't be the last either. I'll be back with a bigger team to help escort the two of you back to Camp Jupiter." I heard Sam walk to the other end of the room. "Remember what I told you Jason, keep that secret of yours under wrap. Make sure Reyna does to."

Jason sighed. "I wish you would tell me why I can't say anything."

"In time. I promise to give you the full run down. If you need anything, call Johnny downstairs. He is obligated to help you under any circumstances. So if you want to abuse catering, make sure to save me a burger. You still have the map I gave you just in case you need to make an early trip?"

I peaked one eye open and saw Jason pull out a folded up piece of paper. "Yep."

Sam placed clippers on the counter and walked to the entrance. "Good. Make sure to cut that hair too. See ya rookies."

Sam slammed the door shut, leaving Jason and I alone. We were in a one bedroom hotel. Close to the entrance was a bathroom and opposite of that was a small kitchen with a mini fridge and microwave. A island bar separated the kitchen and the living room where I was resting. The room was carpeted white and a television set was standing opposite of the large bed I was laying on.

Jason made his way over to the island bar and sat down with his back towards me. He leaned forward and rested his head on the counter top. A long wave of silence past. I looked to my right out of the window. The sun was setting outside. From where we were there was a beautiful view of the ocean below. The waters surface reflecting the warm colors of the sun. The view reminded me of the time my sister and I would spend on the beach. We would rest there and listen to the coqui's sing. Pretending that everything was alright.
